Sitting patiently for the webcast to begin. I was watching the Progress launch but, liftoff coverage was so lousy I came over here early. I guess I will never complain about the last SpaceX launch footage ever again. Well, here's to a great flight for SpaceX today!

Nothing against you or the members of NSF.com I must add. Your coverage as always was spot on. I just thought it was strange that the cameras turned away at the moment of the Progress launch. Of course, the Russian Space Program could care less about me haha....

Coverage for the Progress launch was awful. They had comm issues with the feed from the launch site.

Even Rob Navias was saying "It's not us!" (paraphrased).

Some music to get us into the spirit of adventure!

Our remote descendants, safely arrayed on many worlds throughout the Solar System and beyond, will be unified by their common heritage, by their regard for their home planet, and by the knowledge that, whatever other life may be, the only humans in all the Universe come from Earth. -Sagan

Chris,

In any of the website upgrades have you ever considered adding a live blog functionality.  Sites like gizmodo and engadget use this when companies like apple have product launches.  It is a really slick way to have images and typed updates while reducing the number of people constantly refreshing their page.

I've spent way too much time working on this, for you to not learn the lyrics by heart. I want everyone to take the time between now and start of webcast and get comfy so we can all sing along during terminal count. Kapish?

  "Let's Get Re-Started"
 Let's Get re-Started, up there...

And SpaceX keep runnin' runnin', and runnin' runnin', and runnin' runnin', and runnin' runnin', and
runnin' runnin', and runnin' runnin', and runnin' runnin', and runnin' runnin', and...

This is rockets, no room for disrespect, so, when Falcons launch, you'll crane your necks.

We got 5 minutes for umbilical disconnects, from all pad support equipment
Expendables are inefficient, add PICA-X protection, use the metric system to break away from tradition.
Cause when it works out, launch costs'll lose bouts.
You wouldn't believe how we work metal out.
Burn it till it's burned out.
Turn it till it's turned out.
Contracts from north, west, east, south.

[Chorus:]
Everybody, everybody, buy your tickets.
Get to orbit.
Get it started, get re-started, get it started.
Let's get it started (ha), let's get it started in here.
Let's get re-started (hot), let's get re-started up there.
Let's get it started (ha), let's get it started in here.
Let's get re-started (hot), let's get re-started up there.
Yeah.

Closed loop control, stage and payload.

 Grasshoppers RTLS, nice and slow.
Poaching eggheads, with Si-Valley cool s hit
ULA fear it, SpaceX'll do it!

Get re-started, get to orbit.
In house design and manufacture of all bits
Draco by Draco hatching new Dragons.
Inch by inch with laser sintering.3D design gloves, no illusions!
Mars is still beckoning and that's where we're goin'.

 [chorus]

And Hawthorne just keep churnin' churnin', and turnin' turnin', and runnin' runnin', and running runnin' and...

Tanks get filled, that's the deal.
At the pad, we'll even do a hot-fire drill. (Trust)
Kero-LOX, this is the time,
Rushing through the pintle, as droplets, fine. (Thrust)
Show the finger to gravity, no combustion instability.
Get mighty, loud and sick.
Merlins climb
once mo through the max-Q-tips. (Go)
A launch a month? We'll manifest it! Let's get heavy, let's get hectic.

And we just keep flyin' flyin' and flyin' flyin' and flyin' flyin'..

Love the lyrics re-write for re-started!  While we wait for the webcast, did you know there was a Koren all girl group called SES?  And they have a song called Dreams Come True.

Here is hoping SES Dreams Come True.

Not to the point we've thought it was a good idea, because we're building a huge archive here, live, in a commonality of format. As soon as we start adding chat rooms and blogs, we lose that via dilution. Having a forum and news site format and then suddenly having a blog (which would require me to update when I'm busy enough here anyway) doesn't work in my eyes. Freezing a forum update area and saying "go to this blog page for the event" removes commonality and what is a really nice format where people can relive a spacewalk on STS-130 in this same format.

Possibly the least intimidating super-villain ever. I'm not sure who looks softer, him or his cuddly toy. ;D

Thanks guys!

Also, Joffan, not to dampen things, but doesn't what he intends to DO to the cuddly toy raise Elon's Super-villain credentials in that picture?

Elon can show his approval by flying me over to Hawthorne :D

Btw,
<Evilness> I'm reserving the final countdown as launch song for JWST. </Evilness>

Time to watch another small step, among many, many other steps, in journey that even not yet begun in earnest.

In addition to the spacex.com page for video there is http://new.livestream.com/spacex/events/2565780

These are always exciting.

Is there any difference between the livestream and the spacex.com/webcast? I visted both and to this untrained eye, one seems like a repackage of the other...
