Chris  Whoever loves correction loves knowledge, but he who hates reproof is stupid.

Hopefully something better-funded than the other "fresh, exciting, new commercial space ventures."

I predict the use of the word "venture" means there is no venture. The ocean is red with highly qualified starving startists.

Well it certainly peaked my interest, and hope it has some good substance behind it.

Dr. Chiao is part of Excalibur Almaz. It might have something to do with that.

I was under the impression that he was no longer involved with Excalibur Almaz.

Well, as much fun as speculation with no data is, I think I'll wait to see what he announces...

Agreed with others that I hope it actually has some substance/reality to it. It's much easier to come up with a far-out "if Bill Gates writes me a check with a crazy number of zeroes on it, I can do this awesome sci-fi thing that might potentially make money at some point in the future" than it is to come up with a realistically executable space business.

Dr. Chiao is part of Excalibur Almaz. It might have something to do with that.

Dr. Chiao's name dissapeared from Excalibur Almaz webpage: http://www.excaliburalmaz.com/0003_Leadership.html
Vladimir Titov is not longer involved as well.
