Did anyone else catch the SpaceX guy's close out: See you in just over a week for the next launch!!
either he was feeling extremely boosted by this successful launch or he knows something SFN doesn't...

Congratulations Chris on a well run ship, and to SpaceX for a successful launch
Looking forward to more information and pictures from SpaceX  ;D

I'm sure someone else has mentioned it, but the octoweb flame pattern looked cool towards the end of the first stage burn.

On Falcon 9 flight 1 there were parachutes on the first stage and they intended to recover it, but it broke apart during re-entry. We didn't know about that until towards the end of the presser when a journalist asked Elon about the recovery.

"A few weeks" is what I heard, too.  Might take a while to get to weekly launches ... :)

Should be their new 'ring of fire' logo

If the whole 1st-stage relight and landing recovery thing one day ever becomes normal and routine, I'd love it if the live feed would give us splitscreen to show us both that 1st stage and the rest of the stack doing their thing at the same time.  8)

Since this is a party thread after all, I should report that I'm enjoying my first-ever single malt scotch (12 year old Macallan).

I kept reading about people talking about them and enjoying them.  Although it's somewhat out of my normal price range, about a month ago I bought a bottle to save for a special occasion.  Well, this was it.

(Hey, it's after 5 pm somewhere.)

It's 6 PM here and I've got Auchentoshan Distillery at the bottom of my garden! A small glass is in order!

I'm predicting the record goes down for the first Heavy flight.

I have to say, that was the most entertaining rocket launch I have ever seen.  Stuff actually happening on the pad for the whole 10 minutes before ignition.  I wished Gerry Anderson was still alive to see it, he would feel so vindicated!

Fantastic day for SpaceX and - dare I mention it here? - Orbital.  We have a space transport industry.
