I still can't get over how tall v1.1 is, it's really jarring when you look back and forth between it and v1.0. Gonna be cool seeing that telephone pole of a first stage come sailing back in!

Looking at the SpaceX site and Wikipedia, Falcon 9 is one foot taller than the Saturn 1B with the Apollo spacecraft.  SpaceX doesn't indicate whether that figure is for the Dragon or payload fairing configuration.  If it's for the Dragon configuration, then the payload configuration is another 20 feet taller.
The Space Age is just starting to get interesting.

Is that the TARDIS on the hill off to the left?

I think the white roof indicates it's the heavy version of the venerable type 40.

Or, far less likely, it's a porta-potty.

It's the new model. Even Gallifrey has been hit with budget cuts!

Great news on the static/hot-fire! Now looking forward to a solid launch date and hoping the range can find a suitable slot*

*otherwise the launch could get pushed back quite a bit and Jim's prediction of a launch in November will start looking a little bit more realistic, and we all want Jim to be wrong on this one! :D

Nice look !
It would look even better with Cassiope logo replaced with this one:

Getting my lucky SpaceX coffee mug ready for the launch. I've had it for all the Falcon 9 launches. It's working so far.

I just checked the SpaceX Store, and they don't have any mugs now.

But what really shocked me is that they no longer have the "X" baseball cap.  I think it's way cooler than the "SpaceX" version.  I'm glad I bought one, even though I don't usually wear baseball caps.

SpaceX never had mugs for sale. This is a employees mug. It was a gift.

^^^  But they do have some cool shirts.  I'm getting Occupy Mars for my birthday.

Little bit of a downer, but i figured I would share anyway.  Last night I had a dream about SpaceX (clear sign I need to visit NSF less frequently) and I was watching the Cassiope Launch. It looked like that photo that Elon tweeted -- all covered in grey mist.  As they were in final count down the outside of the rocket caught fire (that part doesn't make much sense, but this is a dream) and then a few seconds later the whole thing just exploded on the pad!

So yeah, not great party topic, but would be WAY off topic everywhere else.  Lets hope I don't have prescient dreams!

Anyone else care to admit that they have had a SpaceX dream?  Hopefully more cheerful than mine!

Bouncer!
If I like something on NSF, it's probably because I know it to be accurate.  Every once in a while, it's just something I agree with.  Facts generally receive the former.

As an expert dream analyst  ::) I believe that your dream deals more with your own insecurities for the launch rather than SpaceX's. I suggest using some positive daydream reenforcement thinking that the launch will be flawless with all objectives achieved.

Well it is Friday the 13th... Good thing the launch is at some luckier day in the future.

Incidentally I had my first ever SpaceX-related dream two nights ago - in the dream the rocket was launched at 9:57 am PDT, and while there are weird things happening during the flight (for some reason in the dream the first stage opened a parachute  ::), and I watched the launch from some place that apparently can only see launches from Wallops  ???), it went off flawlessly.  :)

But I must deal with the launch party on Kyushu island on tomorrow first before coming back.  ;) (hint: the Japanese have good seafood for those who come to watch the launch!)

Though it would be a great idea if all future mockups would contain a tardis hidden somewhere. :D

I wanna post it in various locations, but I'm not sure if the author of the original pictures would like that...

Maybe start by encrusting some text on your image that indicates it's a conceptual photo based on an original photo by Mr. "Author".
