Meant to mention that it looks like LOX is loaded in these pictures. I think the "whiter" part is ice.

Agree. Partial load on the first stage LOX tank.

BTW, great catch on the pictures, Helodriver. Must have been the scrubbed static fire attempt yesterday.

Looks like it sat for a while with a partial LOX load. If they couldn't finish the LOX load for some reason, that might explain the scrub.
I've seen elsewhere that it was a GSE leak, so a LOX leak could have been it.

Clark Lindsey reports the scrub was in fact due to LOX leak in the GSE, not the rocket.

Nice pictures... I really don't think it looks as pencil-thin as some thought it would. Beautiful!

You guys still don't get the difference between a party thread, a discussion thread and an update thread.

It was numerous issues. Only one of them has sneaked out into public.

Hang on, isn't this the party thread?

The tank half empty means they have reached Max-Q.

The tank half full means they are getting ready to chase that demon in the sky.

Or if you are Stan Laurel, your half is on the bottom and you have to take the whole tank.

Wow, between the Mamas and The Papas, gophers looking for a party, and a passel of puns, this thread need only have a limerick and a haiku and it'll be nearly to orbit...never having left the pad!

From this angle it's very easy to picture an FH on the same T/E.  Plenty of room.

Now thats a party. my apologies for taking liberties with your punctuation kch
Space is not merely a matter of life or death, it is considerably more important than that!

This is pretty terrible, but here goes...

There once was a Musk with a rocket.
Erected at Vandy like a <ahem> tower, it
Was trying to fire
But Space didn't inspire
Came off more like a rock with a musket.

If I wanted poetry I would have gone to coffeehouse. Let's get on with the hotfire! (static fire as Elon calls it.)

I, too, feel obliged to embarrass myself:

There was a reusable rocket
But ULA bods would just mock it
They said it was flimsy
And naught but a whimsy
But Elon's determined to grok it

Offline Chris Bergin

Probably not the best timing to post that! :D
