Roscosmos head V Popovkin will be replaced according to the french forum "le forum de la conquête spatiale" and Nicolas Pillet.
His successor should be Karassaiev...

The next proton glonass launch is atleast an year away, so the new chief can relax till then.

Any control of his agency was killed off a long time ago with his statements "trying" to get the MLM launched.

Actually his head was on the chopping block ever since Phobos Grunt failed. That mission was supposed to be a big hit for science and engineering but I was quite shocked with the reason behind the massive loss - programming error in the flight control system.

Result? No Planetary missions for 4-5 years!  :(

Yes, and my hunch is that he will not stay at his post for very long either. Another major incident in Russian spaceflight is just a matter of time. Firing the top bosses does not solve the deep and fundamental problems that plague part of the Russian aerospace industry these days. (organization, funding, quality control, corruption, etc. etc.)
