Falcon 9R Pepper Mill
« on: 08/27/2013 04:17 am »
I bought a 24" pepper mill kit from Lee Valley hardware, and one weekend, while visiting my in-laws, I glued together some extra nogal and oak, and turned this out on the old mans lathe.  After a little sanding and tung oil, i liked it.  Drilled a couple holes for the grinder mechanism to pass through and seat in; voila.  A fine grinder.  I recommend the project for people who are into really really big pepper mills, shaped like iconic rockets.  It's about 30 inches tall.

I'm happy with it.  It would be cool if someone churned out a bunch of these for the SpaceX store!  Perhaps with an automated lathe.

Some landing legs and nozzles might be a nice add.  Though I don't plan to build those for this one.

I wasn't until I read that.  Thanks!
