Just wondering, how much do we think the spacecraft cost? It's made by Orbital, right? Is it safe to assume Orbital got much more revenue from this flight (and SES-8) than SpaceX did?

Why would it be a safe assumption?

Thaicom said they secured $160 million for the project. That is  for spacecraft + launcher + insurance. We have a rough idea how much the F9 1.1 cost them (guessing ~$55 million). What is the insurance rate on a launch like this?

Don't forget launch integration costs... Some (or more than all) of that may be offset by being an early customer, but how much is not obvious to us outsiders. We just don't know.

I think that they probably got a better deal ($20-30 million? Isn't that what Orbital got?), since this is an early Falcon 9 v1.1 launch. And insurance rate is low, from what I heard at that one Singapore satellite conference, maybe 5-10% so $8-16 million. And no, I don't think integration was a big cost, here.

I'm thinking Orbital probably got $75-100 million on this flight, more than SpaceX got.
