Most for sure, they wouldn't take any risk flying her not in top form. She looks good for the battle she put up with though!

LOL, and there was hardly anyone there. The pre-show was down, so we just went though the gift shop. We had Atlantis almost to ourselves for about 45 minutes!

Thanks Ronpur for your amazing photos and especially for sharing your fantastic slideshow.
All 204 pictures are really impressive, and so I could feel how close to Atlantis during a real tour through this unique exhibition.
I've enjoyed every image, and this wealth of details in the close-ups is overwhelming especially for real space model builders and makes me speechless.
Thank you very much for sharing these great pictures, I wish I could be there too.

After reading about how dusty Discovery is at her home, Made me wonder, with Atlantis so exposed to people being so close to her left wing and Cargo Bay, do they do daily checks to make sure people are not throwing items into her Cargo Bay or dropping gum, food, etc on her left wing?

I know I'm going out on a limb and violating the "Assume Rule" ("Never ASSUME, or you may make an A**out of U, not ME"), but I'd ASSUME
that there's enough security presence to prevent that from happening...
Could be wrong, of course.

I have never "seen" security there, but there is always tour guides or others around answering questions. They also have what looked like a ladder or work platform in the ceiling that could possibly drop down to allow dusting or repair of any type of visitor damage.

I was there just a week or so after the opening, and I was told they were most likely going to put a net or shield in front of the shuttle. I was told by a security guard there about people throwing stuff into the cargo bay, and someone almost threw their shoe; before they were stopped.
that there's enough security presence to prevent that from happening...
