It's Tony De La Rosa, ...I don't create this stuff, I just report it.

Does the hotfire slip mean a similar launch slip?
TIA.

OPALS and some nanosats
What kind of wastrels would dump a perfectly good booster in the ocean after just one use?

Does that mean that Johnathan et al. who records launches needs to fill in 200+ entries for this launch? Do the Sprites count as individual satellites?  ;) :P

(I don't think this has happened anytime in history, as there hasn't been any such small active satellites been launched before)

This is a nightmare for satellite tracking - both for physical tracking the payloads and aslo for keeping the history records.

Yes indeed. Not only am I bracing for the data entry challenge, I just recoded my software and database to support extra decimal places in the mass and size columns so that I can keep meaningful data on these small satellites.
For Westford, I have a single meta-entry for the untracked needles, but for the Sprites I will make entries for each one,
even if they are not cataloged.

Let's start a separate discussion thread for 'CRS-3 SpX-3 Payloads' ? (both attached like OPALS and deployed like femtosats?)

Any guesses what "finicky" entails?

Could mean anything. Amazing how many clues you can pick up on twitter. SpaceX really don't like it when that happens! ;)

I've not heard of a static fire. I have asked SpaceX for status. When I know, you'll all know - cause that's what I do! (Professional - unpaid - blabbermouth ;D)

So, covering the Static Fire:

(And yeah, I know that last image in the article is of Merlin 1Cs. No close ups like that for Merlin 1Ds that I can find. Don't hate me for it ;D)

This is from SpaceX facebook -

Falcon 9 and Dragon conducted a successful static fire test in advance of next week’s CRS-3 launch to station! In this final major preflight test, Falcon 9’s 9 first-stage engines were ignited for 2 seconds while the vehicle was held down to the pad.

Launch is targeted for Sunday March 16 at 4:41 am EDT.

Well there's the leg, fairing, side latches, and toe! ;D
A pretty slick looking package! 8)
Also note the dragon logo on the solar panel fairings and perhaps on the beanie cap.
