How's the weather holding up?
Satellite photos shows not a cloud in the sky all over the US east coast!

The current METAR at Wallops reports the same thing:
METAR KWAL 211254Z 03013G17KT 10SM CLR 09/M03 A3053 RMK AO2 SLP336 T00941028The only thing I'm not sure is the surface winds - what's the limit? (current wind is 13 knots from the north-east gusting to 17 knots)

These photos at sunrise should show how clear today's skies are! Amazing!

A
SFN article says:
The weather rules for the Antares rocket call for winds of less than 20 knots, no cloud ceiling below 6,000 feet, and no chance of lightning.

WX brief in progress... MAX ALTITUDE WINDS 88KTS!!! A bit better than yesterday's 105 to 120... surface winds forecasted 10-14KTS Gusting to 17K - conservative POV of 20% (all of it surface winds) at 5 pm.
Since there appears to be some confusion about what winds do and who can waive what (mostly on OTHER media sources, not here!) I will be posting a brief summary of MY understanding of the situation on the General Discussion thread (to keep with the spirit of this one.)

At the risk of inflicting the curse of Murray Walker (British motor racing fans will understand that), the weather looks like it is going to co-operate today. Now it's up to Antares v.1 and the infrastructure at LP-0A to work as advertised.

Last balloon data's DFO is green - debris and toxicity due shortly (toxicity is always very low for THIS flight since it's only the RP-1 and plume constituents - no Hydrazine or N2O4; we will have to wait for Cygnus to worry about that.)
Previous balloon was green for all criteria - range and FAA (see my explanation on the General thread.)
Unless I'm very much mistaken, we're going to launch a rocket today!
