95% of the things we worry about in life never happen.
- or in respect to Proton, about 90%
I prefer to focus on the 90% likelihood of success rather than the 10% chance of failure. If you had those odds guaranteed, you'd be down the casino every day.
That makes a good daily affirmation, VN!
However, if casinos paid out on 90% of all bets placed, they would quickly go bankrupt and close--we couldn't play any day! (Long term, the house ALWAYS wins.)
But seriously,
Did Roskosmos or ESA pay for extra quality control checks, extra testing, etc., for the Proton and/or Briz for this mission? That's one way to skew the odds towards success.

Radio "amateurs" report good signals coming from Earth-orbiting #ExoMars/Briz-M stack! Keeping fingers crossed for 4th maneuver.

Hm... Anatoly Zak wrote that APT jettison occurs shortly after the third burn
Shortly after completing the third firing, Briz-M will jettison its doughnut-shaped external tank.

By the way there's a nice twitter campaign currently - you have the ability to ask an ESA specialist with #askESA
They DO answer a lot of questions.

Anatoly Zak @RussianSpaceWeb
An object (empty tank) from #ExoMars is now detected in orbit similar to our projected parameters: 697x21,086 km:

It's a shame that 1. It's cloudy here and 2. Burn 4 has to take place during the day, because otherwise I think I'd have a great view of it.

Anatoly Zak – @RussianSpaceWeb
19:47:52 GMT: #ExoMars should now begin its ultimate Eath-orbit-escape maneuver lasting 12 min. 29 sec.
Due to beyond-horizon position of #ExoMars, mission control is not expected to confirm 4th engine burn until beginning of next hour at least
