Dragon’s main parachutes have deployed. 10,000 feet to go!
LEO is the ocean, not an island (let alone a continent). We create cruise liners to ride the oceans, not artificial islands in the middle of them. We need a physical place, which has physical resources, to make our future out there.

Recovery ship just heard the sonic booms from Dragon reentry and has data transmission lock.

T-4 minutes until #Dragon splashes down -- look up! Just kidding, Dragon's 200 miles out in the Pacific.

There we go! Congrats!

(I know we're tight arses on live threads, we have to be to ensure people get updates - but as per tradition, everyone's allowed one post of congrats on this live thread if you want).

They're in danger of getting good at this! Many thanks to Chris and all for your excellent coverage throughout the mission.

And that's a three-peat for Dragon ISS missions.    Congratulations to SpaceX and NASA!

Congrats SpaceX! What an epic save that mission was! I'll be interested to see the post-flight analysis of the He pressurisation lines.

Dragon is now tied with the HTV and ATV for the number of successful ISS flights completed. But, we've now got to wait over six months before we see another Dragon in space.

Anyway, post-splashdown party is on Elon's jet, last seen heading toward Mexico. :D

Congradulations SpaceX on another successful mission.  Welcome home Dragon, it's good to have you back.

Go SpaceX!

Well it looks like the entry and landing stages isn't yet a challenge for Dragon - good to see another good landing!

And I guess those thrusters will be checked vellly carefullllllly (is it confirmed that the next Dragon isn't until late November?).......  ;)

Off to Baikonur to light up the other creature of today, the Silver Hypergolic Monster (TM)!

Congrats from me - had us sweating a bit at the beginning there, but recovered and got the job done. And it looks like another accurate EDL if Dragon was visible from the boats - woot.

Here's also to hoping that the fixes to post-splashdown water-rightness come out good.

cheers, Martin
