The debris can clearly be seen to be a piece of the intertank section between the Thor's RP-1 and LOX tanks; since Thor had conventional rigid tanks instead of Atlas's balloon tanks, in-flight destructs would neatly break the airframe into two pieces (demonstrated in the several pad fallbacks during initial Thor testing in 57-58).
