Here is my rough estimate for approach and berthing timeline.4:41am ET = 250 meter (820 foot) departure5:49am ET = 30 meter (100 foot) departure6:07am ET = Capture point arrival6:31am ET = Capture (announced plan)Times are obviously rough estimates. I just needed to know what time to set my alarm clock for.
So, as consolation, let me document here what happened, compared to the estimates from yesterday. Our best guess on Sunday evening as to the approach timeline was based on the CRS-1 approach plan, since that was the best we had. (Martin/MP99, you claimed overnight that it was in the press kit; it is not)
So, now we know that when NASA announces an estimated capture time for the next day, there is at least a full hour of wiggle room in that. Obviously they might run behind the timeline due to issues, and I expected they might run a little ahead, but not a full hour. Contrast with the shuttle days, where they'd be nowhere near this early, rather just staying right on the timeline. Not complaining, just documenting it for the future. Congratulations SpaceX!
