Nobody follows spacecraft after launch except for a select few
Well that'd be us.

I think we need to start with a cubesat thread before we talk about a whole forum section.

This is really only appropriate for the party thread despite being not directly CRS-2 related.

Rap done by SaulPaul for Elon Musk after his SXSW keynote.

LEO is the ocean, not an island (let alone a continent). We create cruise liners to ride the oceans, not artificial islands in the middle of them. We need a physical place, which has physical resources, to make our future out there.

What a great video. It even misspelled Broder's name.

Best kind of mission updates... infrequent and boring.
Grasshopper updates.....the best cure for infrequent and boring mission updates.

Indeed. ;D

(In case it wasn't obvious, my point was that I'm thrilled at the apparently uneventful period.)

Video of CRS-2/SPX-2 launch with inspirational soundtrack and footage.

Not trying to spoil the party here, but I find the footage of the now disfunct shuttle launchpad in the video anything but inspirational.

I wholeheartedly agree.

And if you had to find two seconds of footage of Gwynne Shotwell, could you find any worse?  (Who are those other talking heads?)

As an aside, the still from the video shows the NASA "Worm" logo and a SpaceX worm logo. >:( Who at SpaceX will play Dan Goldin and chase down and destroy these contraband logos? :D
What kind of wastrels would dump a perfectly good booster in the ocean after just one use?

Tell that to NYC and Pennsy fans [1] ... we all HATED the Penn Central "worms in love" logo

Sorta makes me wonder how many are engineers.

Some good quality at the front right  ;)

That is the larger group of women at SpaceX - They made a separate picture of just the women engineers - you can see that here:

I suppose goggling over women does happen at parties, but unlike real life parties, the women in that photo can't give you a slap across the face for it.

So let's not, yeah? Thread trimmed.

The only solution is to get some women in here to ogle the men and even it out, and then let them all go back to, y'know, working hard at sending humans into space. ;D

Hooray for STEM women btw!

Agreed!

Perhaps part of the reason there aren't more women in STEM is because they have to put up with our BS. We could probably improve the situation by just using a little common courtesy and not immediately jump to rating them on attractiveness.....

Okay, PSA over. But I really think we need more women in STEM; being male-dominated (not as bad in math, actually) means that much of the solution space for technical/engineering/scientific problems is only partially explored. Another perspective can only help.

Took 14 posts before someone bothered to report a bunch of non updates in the update thread. Those posts - and this one - are now in the right thread.

Unbelievable. It's like herding cats on here. No, that's not a cue for someone to post that video.

I should be writing articles at 2am in the morning, not frakking about with SpaceX threads.

Thread title. Read it. Post on the relevant thread. It's not that hard, and you're not a bunch of simpletons (;D), so work it out, self moderate and stop tempting me from making the SpaceX sections read only for all but L2 members.

OK then! How long before SpaceX produces a promotional "this is how we herd cats IN SPAAAAAACE!!!!" vid ???
