I like that.

The Toronto sun cartoonist pokes a little gentle fun at it:

I like this "unwritten rule of life in space" coined by Molly McCormick of SpaceX yesterday:

@Molliway: Pro tip: never get between on-station astronauts and fresh fruit.

A picture from my favorite country...

Quote
Chris Hadfield @Cmdr_Hadfield

Oslo, Norway, lovely northern city, rarely seen from the International Space Station. pic.twitter.com/JRaa6qBaN7

Its rarely seen because ISS does't pass over it, so it is only seen to the north when the nothernmost point of the orbit falls right south of norway.

And guess who is in Oslo, Norway right now?

Elon musk is there promoting the European version of Tesla Model S and announcing that the first superchargers outside north america are to come in Norway. He just finished a presentation and Q&A  about an hour ago. (The only other place in europe he had time for this time was the car show in Geneva yesterday).

(Norway has the best incentives in the world for electric cars by a wide margin and more electric vehicles are bought here per million citizens than anywhere else, again by a big margin).

EDIT: a couple of hours later, Elon ( @elonmusk ) tweeted:

Quote
Am in Oslo to thank the Norwegian customers of @TeslaMotors personally. Highest Model S orders per capita in the world.

EDIT2: Second picture of scandinavia posted later that evening shows the perspective on Scandinavia from ISS that i talked about:

For anyone who was watching the SpaceX stream with the new caster Kiko Dontchev, I knew him back when he was at UofM. He's a really cool guy, crazy good engineer and an awesome speaker. (The scripting in the SpaceX stream kind of ruined his speaking style though.)

Here is a TEDx talk that he did at UofM at cubesats that was well done.

Edit: Side note: I've thought for a while, NSF's forums needs a dedicated section for Cubesat missions, there is getting to be a tremendous amount of missions every year and if they haven't already, they'll soon be passing "normal" satellites in amount of missions flown.

LEO is the ocean, not an island (let alone a continent). We create cruise liners to ride the oceans, not artificial islands in the middle of them. We need a physical place, which has physical resources, to make our future out there.

Twitted by SpaceX's Kyle Cothern:

@Molliway what you mean to say is, Dragon just got the reach around from Canada Arm, Junk was removed from Trunk.

I suspect somebody has been reading here.  ;)

Not trying to spoil the party here, but I find the footage of the now disfunct shuttle launchpad in the video anything but inspirational.

Well that'd be us.

I think we need to start with a cubesat thread before we talk about a whole forum section.
