Well, no launch party tonight, but I'm definitely enjoying this adult beverage in my hand...

but we're not in a position to make meaningful speculations about this anomaly right now.

The helium was manufactured poorly and ended up having too high viscosity.

OK, bedtime for me...

They cooked it too much. It was full of clumps.

Goodnight.
It just wasn't the right texture.

Come with me and cheer for The Elon!  ;D

I remember during that launch the guy in the blue shirt caught slack for not being as ecstatic as everyone else. You don't really see him jumping till the solar panels are deployed and all is good. I'll say his reserved enthusiasm was vindicated today.
...water is life and it is out there, where we intend to go. I believe that this nation should commit itself to achieving the goal, before this decade is out, of landing a man or machine on a body such as the Moon and harvest a cup of water for a human to drink or process into fuel for their craft.

No launch party?  Is that because of the anomaly?  That's too bad.  The launch itself went well, as far as I could tell.

I second the adult beverage.  I'm finally home from work, where I've been following the mission more than actually working.  We can all use some of that.   ;)

That's the way I am with launches.  I don't really exhale until orbital insertion, at least.

(Not to be a downer, but I've seen videos of Challenger where some people cheered the explosion at first, not understanding what they were seeing.)

OK, this is probably off-topic even for a party thread, but I got a British 10 pence coin in change yesterday.  It's exactly the same size and color as a US quarter.

It's not unusual to get Canadian coins, but I don't remember ever getting a British coin before.  I only mention it because of all the Brits on this site.  :)

So I only got to watch from T-10 minutes till T+10 Minutes.....Did I miss anything?

(kidding, true I only saw those 20 minutes, but I've read every thread since then. Nice work people felt like I was watching it live. Good on ya SpaceX, way to keep Jim's comments to a minimum.)

I got given a 500 yen coin instead of an aussie $1. Worth about $5.25 if I was ever to find someone willing to give me the exchange rate for Japanese coins. :)

Wow, that's leftfield :D

When in the US I find it very baffling how all the dollar notes are the same bloody color! I have to actually look at the number on the note! ;D

British notes:

But here's what you need, the biggest one on the bottom right is a two pound coin (about 3 bucks).

Does this digression mean I can start uploading my favorite York City goals? ;D

Well I never! During the smooth ride to orbit I was thinking how long would it take for the F9 to attain the reliability and flight rate of the Soyuz/Delta rockets, and for the Dragon to become the American "Progress". Then the Dragon lost its RCS........

This, of course, is definitely not the first time a spacecraft lost all attitude control and recovered in hours (e.g. Gemini 8 was far more cliff-hanging), but still the whole Dragon team must deserve applause for sorting it out (and by the way of good old valve recycling!)....

One thing is sure however, every SpaceX launch is far more attractive than >95% of TV dramas out there! You won't find the dramatic element on the Atlas/Delta/Antares (sorry Antonio!  :D).......

Padrat, was this your first launch with your new job, or were you around there for the processing of the last one?

Super congrats to all involved... This appears to an amateur observer to have been the most flawless performance of the LV yet.

I'd say 100%.  And the vast majority of people have no idea at all that this is happening.

Thanks to seeking updates on this site, I knew what was going on today more than anyone else I encountered.  During a couple of breaks at work, I listened to the local news radio station, and they never mentioned it at all.

Heh, someone made a Kerbal Space Program SpaceX mod called KerbX:

I slept right through it but I was up reading updates half the night.

This forum goes crazy during these launches.

Good to see Falcon 9 in flight with the rocketcam.  :)
