Lonnie’s Treasures
« on: 11/06/2012 04:00 pm »
Visited Dr. Lonnie Hammargren and his three homes built into “Hammargren Home of Nevada History” Filled with actual historical articles, mockups & displays, blended with his “artistic nature”

Former NASA employee as a flight surgeon for the Apollo program
Archeoastronomer, Knighted for charity work five times: Greece, Italy, London, Russia, Malta, Honorary Consul to Belize, musician.

Former Regent & Lt. Governor.
I’ll add some more background when time permits.

I tried to pick out the space related photo’s I took.    Don’t know the stories behind most of this stuff.  Maybe dig more into the history with another visit?

Now for some Russian Treasure......
I know one of the suits or both are very special Cosmonauts.
Any help ?

The display board in the background seems to be from one from the Apollo Soyuz program.   Not sure where it came from, any ideas?

Now for some Russian Treasure......
I know one of the suits or both are very special Cosmonaughts.
Any help ?

Not much, but I think the shoulder insignia on the left one indicates a Lt. Colonel.  If you can get a shot of the Russian text in the background I'll see if it's any more informative.

now on to the Apollo Boilerplate, used for water drops.

was hoping to see some hardware mockups inside or something so it turned to be a little disapointment.  However it was an Apollo Trainer, so it wasn't all bad.

Edit: Info updated
