Is this snap (from rtsp://163.205.10.21/encoder/nasaksc.rm) the correct aspect ratio?

Looks about right... for a F9 v1.1  ::)

Vertically stretched, probably should be presented in 16:9 or 16:10 aspect ratio instead.

I should make a note on the SpaceX livestream. VLC can't directly handle the livestream specific stream from Akamai HD. VLC can playback the downloading stream, but I might be stuck downloading the stream in RAM (ram disk) for playback. I did some testing last night on another stream, and the method might perform than C2+.

When the webcast starts, I'll see if VLC playback can keep up with the Flash player. I expect the 720 stream falling behind on my connection, 480 is more likely.

About Akamai webcast: eeugh, I hate talking heads. Show me launch pad! Show me finely... uh, shaped rockets that wil pierce... um, heavens...

Freud was right.

I'm wondering why the Akamai HD freed isn't listed on NASA TV page, let I was able to find a link elsewhere, it might be an old link that Akamai still provides.

Good luck to Sierra Nevada. This is a big launch for them.
Human spaceflight is basically just LARPing now.

You've been doing the "nominal" game, right?

No no, it's true. They built the Orbcom sat in the trunk. It's going up now as a pathfinder before deploying a whole fleet of them. So, SNC is fingers-crossed on this one too.

Or better yet, watch NASA TV with the SpaceX techno in the background. ;)

If Elon Musk owned a club, I bet this is the music that would be played.

Hey, I've even got a name for this club: The Space Bar! :D ;D

The spacex webcast 720 feed here is downloading at 100KB/sec.
I dont mind the music, but I would like a clock to find out how my VLC playback is doing.

Okay, time to prepare my own version of "nominal" game, only with Cola. I predict many trips to bathroom in future...
