Cross posting from the SpX-1 mission general thread.

Notice the launch and return cargo manifests posted on the spaceflightnow web site.

Stuff going up link:
http://spaceflightnow.com/falcon9/004/launchmanifest.html

Stuff coming down link:
http://spaceflightnow.com/falcon9/004/returnmanifest.html

So is the cargo going to the ISS relatively low density?

Interesting; twice as much coming down (904 kg w/packaging) as going up (454 kg w/packaging).

And since it's mainly rack equipment, then yes, it's low density. Large bags of water would be high-density.

Nice to see pictures of a real spacecraft at ISS and a real launch vehicle.

In the Press kit I see it shows
"Total Cargo Upmass, with packaging" is 1995 pounds
(bottom page 10)

On page 6 it references recovery vessels:
100 ft. boat with an A frame and an articulating crane,
and 90 ft. boat for telemetry. Does anyone here know if these are the same "barge and tug" we have seen previously, or different vessels?

Interesting that according to the press kit. The up and down cargo mass is 905 kg/1995 lbs for CRS-1. Must be a lot of packaging for the up cargo of 400 kg/882 lbs.

Do we count the cargo packaging mass as part of the program's 20 tonnes total?

Not Spacex's but NASA's, yes.  Spacex gets packaged cargo from NASA in CTB's, which will have foam in them.  There will be some without, such as freezer's.

So why such a light load on this flight.  Isn't the Dragon supposed to be able to loft over 7,000 lbs?

Good press kit, but a really good expanded overview in L2 via the CRS-1 Mission Synopsis Presentation.

The preliminary weather outlook for Sunday's launch calls for a 60 percent chance of acceptable conditions for launch.

Was on L2 earlier, but SpaceX have released it:

"Update from SpaceX:

At today's official Launch Readiness Review meeting, launch managers gave a "go”"to proceed towards launch on Sunday, 10/7 at approximately 8:35PM."

L2 also noted there's an ISS TCA under consideration, and worth watching in case there's a related impact to the schedule.
