Just a picture of an empty launch pad.

maybe someone can answer this...
if Luch-5b was installed and operating during yesterdays EVA we could have had video in one area.

Smoking launch pad...
How much is smoke and how much is DUST? (Zenit really seems to raise dust).

I think its all smoke. The picture was taken almost 10 minutes after launch and dust does not rises that way.

I don't believe (correct me if I'm wrong) that the US Ku band system is compatible with the Luch system or would be used by NASA even if it was. The Kibo module has a high data rate link but I don't think it's used by NASA. I'd be curious to see what if any cameras are on the Russian segment (inside or out) to provide video right now. Video from Russian spacewalks is via USOS exterior cameras and US provided helmet cams. Even the video from the Russian segment of new crew arrivals is done via cameras run from the US segment.

yeah, these goverment launches are very similar to the USAF EELV launches. Which is understandable

Hopefully they'll release a statement of success by the time I wake up tomorrow.
