I thought I heard somewhere it was supposed to be on a Zenit, possibly via Sea Launch.

I thought I heard somewhere it was supposed to be on a Zenit, possibly via Sea Launch.

This was not actually a rumor, it was based on the company that invested in Almaz also loaning money to SeaLaunch during the bankruptcy. However, that company got repaid, and is no longer connected to SeaLaunch.

BTW, Zenit/SeaLaunch is probably 3 times larger than necessary for launching the capsule. The Antares launcher, with a more gentle upper stage, would be a good candidate. So would Stratolauncher.
