A similar topic in the HLV section regarding how the reduced funding in FY13 PBR for SLS/Orion ( http://forum.nasaspaceflight.com/index.php?topic=28051 ) produced a rabbit trail about commercial crew, and this is a better place for such a discussion. In particular is the idea that Congress may want to roll back commercial crew funding to about half the PBR FY2013 budgeted ~$800 million. So how would cutting commercial crew funding in half versus the requested amount affect commercial crew's development?

Heck, I'm still trying to figure out how we went from 2015 to NET 2017, and that's apparently with the $800M budget...

Bill Hardwood just posted a great article which answers my question:

Essentially, the trimmed FY12 budget resulted in the NET 2017.  This whole thing boggles my mind...

The Congress-NASA dynamic has boggled my mind since the 1970's.

Which is my I'm writing my Congressmen to urge them to support the 830 million request.
