In the spring of 2010, we set out to make our first feature-length documentary film.  The adventures in which we’d been honored to take part for STS-129 inspired us to show everyone what we were up to at Kennedy Space Center.  From that, the “Press to MECO” project was born.

The idea started in the run up to STS-132 and scripts were written in the tail end of that year.  The production and narration recording started in December of 2010 and the editing process began in January of this year, but the bulk of the film’s assembly took place this summer.  We have many people to thank for this undertaking –

1. The entire team at Kennedy Space Center (both PAO and all KSC employees) for all their work to get us (and thus everyone who views this film) behind the scenes at KSC and allow us to do things we never would have thought possible even two years ago.
2. Brian Peck with Chicago’s WILV 100.3 Rewind radio station for narrating the film, being patient with us as we ran through a few re-writes of various scripts and letting his own enthusiasm show through his work!
3. Robert Pearlman, Todd Halvorson and David Waters, who happily took part in the project by sharing their own experiences and thoughts with us during STS-133’s launch countdown.
4. Everyone here at NASASpaceflight.com who supported our efforts over the years and pushed us to go harder and farther, and to better ourselves every step of the way.  This film is for all of you!

With that, we give you our “Press to MECO,” which runs 1 hour, 22 minutes and 50 seconds.  The film is available in 1080p and 720p resolutions in both its fully-assembled version and each individual part (the latter is for people with less-reliable internet connections who might not be able to download a huge file).

Download 1080p (3.2 GB) (Right Click, Save Target As...)

Download 720p (2.3 GB) (Right Click, Save Target As...)

We know these files are large, but we hope you’ll take the time to download the full film.  For those who wish to watch it in a lower-resolution format, here is a link to a streaming version on our website –

"Press to MECO" Streaming

For those still having trouble with either the downloads or the streaming, the video is available on youtube as well, in 10 parts.

For those who had trouble with the 1080p and 720p versions, here's a 480p version -

Thanks Nathan. Could you provide a file in 480p? Higher resolutions don't play properly on my computer.

Will look into a lower res version.  Be advised we also have this in 10 parts on youtube, that may help you.

Thanks for the streaming link, otherwise this would be too much of a download.

Really excellent work with this and good to see some of the faces to names :)

Am looking forward to watching this! Looks great already! :)

Thanks so much for the streaming version - if I had to download 5.5 GB, I'd be here until next month. :D

VLC player works well for us, if you still have issues note the youtube link above, as well as our streaming video link in the first post, either one should help you view the video.

If we need to convert to another format to help people out we certainly will, just let us know either here or by PM and we'll get it so all can see it!

Try the streaming link, as their page should load up the player for you.

Or try downloading it and playing in VLC.

Just finished watching the 740P version, well done!!!!!!!  The sound editing for the launches was spot on, sounded like you were right there.  Oh yes, thanks for the book plug (look over Nathan's shoulder).  Great job and worth the wait!!!!

I've just watched the first 30 minutes or so and I'm really impressed.
Both video quality and artistic quality really good.
My PC though occasionally jerks when playing the film.
So how about releasing it on Bluray for people with a slower PC who'd like to see it in all its glory. I'd definately buy a copy..just a thought.

So I was expecting some camcorder stuff and as much as the MaxQ videos are excellent, I had no idea it would be like a real TV documentary! This is REALLY professional!! :o
