Those that can't make the NewSpace 2011 Conference don't have to miss out. Tune into www.Spacevidcast.com to watch the live stream of the conference and send in questions for the panelists via the chat feature. All the panels, lunch events, and even the NewSpace Awards Gala will be streamed on July 28-30. Set your calendar to watch what the leaders of the space industry have to say about expanding our foothold in space and read live commentary on Twitter by searching for the hashtag #NewSpace2011!
The conference starts at 8:00-8:30am and runs until 5:00-6:00pm Pacific Standard Time, and the Gala from 6:00-10:00pm. The full agenda is available online. The conference organizers ask those attending to share the link for the Spacevidcast stream with their friends and colleagues back home, and to post updates on their favorite social media platform.
For more information, visit newspace.spacefrontier.orgend of blurb. I checked out the agenda at:
http://newspace2011.spacefrontier.org/agenda/and its filled with the people at NASA and the various companies that everyone here either loves or hates. There's a whole session just on SpaceX.

I'm hoping they archive it too - I won't be able to watch it all live but am looking forward to whatever I can find...

We'll work on the archive like we did last year. Problem is that neither Cariann nor myself are able to attend in person and instead we're sending a proxy and our gear. If he remembers to grab the archives we should be golden. If not, I have a backup plan, but that doesn't always work. We'll do our best though.

Predictable me, noticed "Mark Sirangelo Chairman, Sierra Nevada Space Systems" for some Dream Chaser hugging.
Bob Cabana for some KSC promoting. Max Vozoff is always good.
Are you going to the event Jon?

Well, I'm representing one of the five competitors in the business plan competition, so I probably ought to go... ;-)

I'll be cheering you on! Crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and hear the lamentation of their women!

FYI, if you want to sign up for the chat, your username and email have to begin with a letter, not a number.

Interesting talk by ULA on secondary payloads... most interesting to me was the proposed mod of the secondary payload adapter into a solar-electric third stage which would make it possible to inject the secondary payload at almost any kind of orbit (and send many different secondary payloads to different orbits per launch... single-launch nearly-Orbcomm-like constellation as a secondary payload?), including escape.
Started a thread about it here:
http://forum.nasaspaceflight.com/index.php?topic=26232.msg784932#msg784932 (please add any more information if you know any!)

Good talk by Charles Miller, Senior Advisor (sp) for Commercial Space, NASA.
Talked about the background of NACA, why it was founded, the Wright Brothers, etc.
Is the video archived somewhere?

The biggest problem for secondary payloads has always been schedule. The technical stuff is minor.

What do you mean by that? Do you mean that the secondary payload is held up by the primary (and possibly vice versa!)?

Looks like a good stream and set up, even on my rubbish PC

Bob Cabana currently on the comfy sofa.

I couldn't keep the feed running smooth enough to actually follow the discussions. Gotta love Verizon's network, all I can get here in the countryside
