I just saw a picture on Instagram on them doing something with the yellow bars. Looks like they're getting ready.

The port, or left-side door was opened Friday morning (May 10).
There is still considerable work to be done, removing the D-clamps, the strongbacks (which I now hear will be removed) and attaching the support wires to the doors (not necessarily in that order).

Awesome animations of Atlantis Jok.
When will the replica RMS be installed? Technically it's the last thing to do with the orbiter itself.
When will the replica external tank begin construction for the front entrance to the museum?

When can we reserve tickets for opening day? Cause I know I will be there front and center. This exhibit is looking unbelievable.

Here is the latest official NASA-KSC picture:
Caption:
KSC-2013-2315 (05/10/2013) --- CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. -- At the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex in Florida, technicians monitor the progress as space shuttle Atlantis’ payload bay doors are fully opened. Atlantis is being prepared for display in the “Space Shuttle Atlantis” exhibit, a 90,000-square-foot facility, scheduled to open June 29, 2013. The new $100 million facility will include interactive exhibits that tell the story of the 30-year Space Shuttle Program and highlight the future of space exploration. Visitors to the exhibit will get an up close look at Atlantis with its payload bay doors open, similar to how it looked in space. Photo credit: NASA/Kim Shiflett

Are the star tracker doors going to stay closed? I assume there's nothing behind them any more.

I know when they stowed the KU Band Antenna before final power down, they stated that it would not be deployed again.
That may have been in the context of NASA/USA orbiter processing (in the OPFs). Different rules may apply in this setting and with the vehicle deactivated.
as we can see in the new photo, looks like the ku band antenna is deployed.

I had high hopes for this display, and this is better than I expected. If I ever make a trip to the US, this will make it close to go to Florida as a destination in addition or even instead of NY and DC/Dulles/Udvar-Hazy. Although, an East Coast roadtrip would be great

I hope they'll go all the way and include star trackers etc, so that it would look as authentic as possible.
