Where is Exploration Park at? I'm pretty sure they will bus us there from the KSCVC. Maybe we should start another thread for the Atlantis - Celebrate the Journey event.
Roughly at the intersection of Kennedy Parkway (S.R. 3) and 5th Street, south of S.R. 405 and north of Space Commerce. It's on the west side of S.R. 3; should be able to find it in a recent satellite map of the area.
Looks like they will need to take down stop lights and light poles if they are going to take her into the park.

KSC visitor Centre told me on Monday that ATlantis could be seen in the VAB between 16 october and 2 Novembre. Now, somebody just wrote me saying that the guides at KSC told him that Atlantis will go directly from the OPC to the Museum. Who<s right?

I guess it's possible that some discussions are still going on; however, I've heard from Stephanie Stilson twice now -- last month and last Friday -- that Atlantis will go to the VAB first. She said the current target date was October 17.

and payload bay work on mock tv cameras and airlock
Why not donate a real airlock to the museum? There is no use for the shuttle airlocks after r&r?

There are several proposals that use former shuttle airlocks, and as such are quite valuable. Also the mockups are much lighter, as Atlantis needs to go on a diet for the KSCVC exhibit.

I just got an email from KSC stating Atlantis will travel from the VAB to Exploration Park on 11/2. So it seems nothing has changed. I booked my tour of the VAB. So now I'll get to see her 2 days.

No RMS? Of all shuttles to keep an arm I would love to of seen it be Atlantis considering its display. Where did the arms go? Canada, Smithsonian, and what about the third?

Atlantis should have a replica RMS positioned above it, as in operational use.

I'm so disappointed! I<m leaving Florida on the 17 of October and bought the VAB tour for the 16.
This from Kennedy Space Centre Visitor Centre.
KSC Up-Close: The Vehicle Assembly Building Tour
This KSC Up-Close Tour features an inside view of the Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB). Walk along the Transfer Aisle, used to move elements of rockets among the building's four High Bays. Other sites on this KSC Up-Close Tour include the NASA Causeway, A/B Camera Stop and the amazing Apollo/Saturn V Center.
Beginning October 17, guests who take the VAB tour have the opportunity to see Space Shuttle Atlantis.

Update for the only orbiter still left at KSC:
Inside Orbiter Processing Facility-2 at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida, a United Space Alliance technician prepares to close space shuttle Atlantis’ midbody door for the final time.

I wonder if Orbiters hate going on diets as much as people do?!
