I'll tell you this much, it makes it a hell of a lot easier when there's this community on here who aren't thinking "NASA? Who gives a crap, there's a food eating contest on ESPN".
Keep the faith.
It's upsetting how some don't care, I told my Dad earlier 'Well after 30 years thats the Shuttle landed and the program over' and he moans about his rolls being dry before going 'oh right'.

I know all the astros are great, but they've had three excellent commanders for the last three missions. Lindsey, Kelly and Ferguson. You just don't see people of that class all that many times in life.

HUGE thanks to all who made the Shuttle possible, and who got me hooked on spaceflight by lighting up the night sky over 50 miles from my house on December 9, 2006 on STS-116. The Space Shuttle will be missed and never forgotten.

Gonna take this opportunity to pass on a few words to the team.
Thanks to my friends, and co workers. Extreme privilege to work with each and all of you, very passionate about the work they do. Take great pride in what you do, and know that you are the main reason for the success of the SSP. As Columbia touched down on STS-1, FD said "Prepare for exhaulration." The Shuttle has never let us down in that.
Hold your heads up high as we close out the SSP. Savor the moment. Your work has helped America and the world around us."
