Chris , thank you very much for the opportunity to post. I have been a shuttle fanatic since they rolled Enterprise out in 1976, at which time I was 2 1/2 years old (and yes I can remember that far back). I feel privileged to have been able to see every shuttle launch, and landing, and vividly remember getting up early in the morning April 12, 1981 to see Columbia launch at what was 4:00am our time. It sure doesn't seem like 30 years ago, and it will be strange indeed not having shuttles launching anymore. I would like to take this time to thank you and everybody at NSF for this great site, and a huge thanks for all the NASA, and contractor employees who contribute so much behind the scenes information, and truly make this the best website on the Internet!

Chris, thanks yet again for providing this forum. I too remember Apr 12, 1981 (a weekend when the UK media was focussed on the Brixton riots, and there was no nasaspaceflight.com to let me follow events at the Cape in detail). Since then I've crossed an ocean and been privileged to be part of the adventure myself, as a postdoc at MSFC and then at SAO on the Chandra team. But I can still remember the excitement of my first view of a Shuttle, when Enterprise visited Stansted in 1983 - hope it's not too off topic to include a snap here to remind us of how far we've come.

Crew finishing RCS hot fire now; as noted, they requested to move FCS checkout and this up ahead of the picosat deploy coming up later. (Although FCS checkout was already in front in the revised flight plan.)

RCS hotfire test completed.
Unfortunately not a great shot. I apologize. It was difficult to capture a good screenshot of the RCS firings.

Here's a simply fabulous shot from the rear of Atlantis' payload bay. Great view of the OBSS arm, and the payload bay windows.

I hope there's some HD downlink time today, I'd quite like to see the flyaround from yesterday.

Shooting for Picosat deploy at MET 11/16:20 -- moved up about 5 minutes, as Mr. Navias reports. Some shots from earlier from the RMS elbow pan after RCS hot fire.

Forecast continuing to show excellent conditions, so there goes the cross country SCA finale.
It sure would have been nice to see the SCA tour across the southern US.
I'd say there's still a good chance of SCA tour, only it would more likely be Endeavour on her way out to Los Angeles. Given she'd be inert-ed (or at least more than a post-flight ferry), it may provide a better chance for more people to get up close to the duo.

May get some video from the crew cabin at some point, that was discussed in the A/G recently.
Edit: that would be now

Everyone who's up watch closely, this is probably one of the last times we'll see astronauts live inside the space shuttle.
