What a fantastic finish, slowly fading into nothingness.
Sort of like the mythical city of Atlantis that sank into the sea.

Steve Robinson emotional? His voice was breaking up then, and not in a comm issue way.

ISS FCR - parts of it.
"It's been a pleasure and an honor. Proud to be the last of the ISS teams to watch the shuttles....The ISS wouldn't be here without the shuttles.
"Thank you and farewell to the magificant machines."
Fergie: "It's been an incredible ride. Looking forward to meeting up and patting you on the back in a few days. Happy to serve with you."

Very beautiful. I remember when Shuttle first rendezvoused with Mir. It was very special.
This all reminds me of ASTP. When Soyuz and Apollo performed their final undocking. The next several days went from firsts to final events. As Apollo spent its' final days in space at least we knew Shuttle was coming down the road. Now we're not sure what will be next.

From ISS team:
Tani - "Hey Fergy, from the ULF7 Orbit 1 team in the ISS Mission Control room here in Houston we just wanna let you know that it's been an honor to support this 37th mission of the Space Shuttle to the ISS. And we're proud to be the last in a countless line of mission control teams that have had the honor to watch over the ISS while Discovery and Endeavour and Atlantis have visited over the last 13 years.
From this room we've watched and supported as the shuttle has enabled the station to grow from a humble single module that was grappled by the shuttle's arm to a stunning facility that is so large that some astronauts have momentarily gotten lost in it. You can take it from me. So of course the ISS wouldn't be here without the Space Shuttle, so while we have the communication link-up for the last time we wanted to say thank you and farewell to the magnificent machines that delivered, assembled, and staffed our world-class labratory in space.
So Fergy, Chunky, Sandy, and Rex - get her home safely and enjoy the last couple of days in Space Shuttle Atlantis."
Ferguson - "Hey Dan and to the whole FLCR (sp?) 1 team and the whole Orbit 1 team from Jerry on down we do appreciate those great words. You know it's been an incredible ride and I think on behalf of the four of us we're really appreciative that we had the opportunity to work with you and are extremely fortunate to have taken part in this pivitol mission. We're looking forward to in a couple of days to meeting up with most of you and pat you on the back and share some of the stories, some of the behind the scenes stuff that we hope we've successfully hid from you. But believe me there was a little bit of pandemoneum between what appeared to be all the calm and we're glad to be headed home and we're happy to serve with you.
We'll see you then."

I believe that's also John McCullough, Chief of the Flight Director Office, who has been at the MOD console.
