This new enhanced as well as standardized version, recently identified as Zenit 3SLU, will replace both Zenit 3SL and Zenit 3SLB effective starting 2016.
Zenit 3SLUF will replace Zenit 3SLBF effective starting 2017.
Zenit 3UF (also seen as Zenit 3FU) will replace Zenit 3F effective starting 2017.

Zenit 3SLU will also fly with new upper stage version Block DM-3SLU.

It seems that RD-171M n°A168 was rather for AMOS 4...

It has a skirt around the engine so one of the early ones.

Does anyone have the launch time for the failed Zenit-2 launch on February 5, 1992? It's the only one Zenit launch in which I was unable to find the launch time, and I'm writing a list of Zenit launches for Wikipedia, so........  :-\

Wow ! I'm just discovering, in the official Energiya history (1996-2001, page 789), that the RD-170 used at the beginning of Sea Launch program were taken from an unflown Energiya launcher !

It means that it s possible to convert a RD-170 into RD-171 !

And it means that Antares and Soyuz-2.1v are not the first launchers to fly with old engines !

Bart's book explained that, too. They had one or two sets of Energyia boosters and converted whatever they could for Zenit. The RD-170/171 difference is just the TVC. It was part of the huge effort to find as much commonality between the Energyia boosters and the Zenit. Please remember that the plan was to replace Soyuz (and some Proton missions) with Zenith. The arguments between Glushko's Energyia (who had sold the HLV on that fact) and Yuzhnoye Design Bureau (who insisted on different platforms) were quite vivid. At last the settled on different tank's wall width, TVC and some fairings.
The RD-171M is a new engine which weights 300kg less than the 171 and shares over 70% of parts with the RD-180. Which had a lot of improvements over the original engines.
In any case, Zenit flew proven engines less than a decade old. Antares launched with a design that had never done a mission and were over 40 years old. And with a very complicated gear reduction system (which the RD-17x family avoids at the cost of extra turbines).

There are no more planned Sea Launch launches?

There are no more planned Land Launch launches from Baikonur?

There are three more Roskosmos launches from Baikonur?
