Kickoff for the BPM100 Rocket engine
Copenhagen Suborbitals
Published on Oct 4, 2018
After the successful launch of the Nexø II it's time to move on to the SPICA class rockets. In the coming years the SPICA and it's 100KN engine will be our top priority. And now we have kickoff - we are aiming to build the first BPM100 engine in 100 days!

They dropped that idea years ago I believe, although I never heard why. Would've liked to know which aspects they thought were out of their reach. I imagine it was the prospect of needing to blow up a number of engines to get it right.

They're leaving the option open:
https://ing.dk/blog/turbo-221279Google translated version:
Orbital Machines business case is to supply battery-powered turbo pumps to New Space startups. In recent years, many small launcher launchers have been established and common to many of them is that they are not really able to start a turbopump project. Successful Eivind and Orbital Machines will now become something they can buy.
I think it's a crazy good idea to start a business, but the best part is that CS is a partner / trial canine. If it succeeds in producing a turbopump, CS will receive the first prototype available for free for our BPM100 engine and Spica! In that case, several 100 kg of Spica can shave sharpener shapes and a greatly reduced DPR section. This is something that could potentially be really interesting for CS. Since we prefer not to make the Spica project dependent on another project, Spica is designed to be a pressurized rocket like Nexø II, but if the turbopump is realized, we will be able to change and make Spica some 100 kg easier.

TL;DR: LOX tank pressure too low -> fuel rich operation -> lower thrust + fuel depleted too soon -> lower than expected apogee.

This is an update on our next generation of rocket engines, the BMP100, which will propel our manned Spica rocket above the edge of space. Here we discuss our current progress on the engine design after our initial design project called BPM100 in 100 days.

What I love about this group is they talk things over, argue, fight, and then decide what to do. That confidence you see in these videos comes from the belief that everyone agrees that the current course of action will provide the best information to make better decisions later. Sure, there's different camps with different ideas about what's best to do next, and the long-term strategy, but there's a process in place that keeps those camps working together.
