Need help labeling turbo pump parts
« on: 03/24/2011 06:12 PM »
I'm creating an animation to show off how our company can do technical projects and so naturally I decided to do a turbo pump being assembled as the camera floats around it. The pump itself is just something I made up with some infuence from the Merlin 1 turbo pump, our prospective clients wouldn't know the difference anyway. Can anyone tell me what the casing is typically made of , as well as the rotors and such? Again it doesn't need to be 100% accurate but I want it to reasonably close.
Thanks in advance
Rob

{snip} our prospective clients wouldn't know the difference anyway.

That is a very risky bet you are taking there.  People who commission videos of technical projects are likely to have technical advisers.  They may even recognise the original product.

However it is quite normal of teaching media to use a generalised design that avoids problems with patents and copyright.
