I posted this imae oiginally n the live page following countdown but was erased :-((

So,I'll post here since I think anyone doing screen captures or reading web pages after event may be led to believe launch was One Hour Earlier in GMT time when it is one hour later than time appearing on the live and these forum pages.

Was there ever word on what, if any, problem the strongback had on Monday? Seems to be doing alright today.

Question- what are the implications for recycle given that the engines have fired?

As John Insprucker said on the webcast.. they've done it before.

Depending on the issue, it's not a show stopper.

That was dramatic!
(venting, that is.  It was so quiet and then WOOSH.)

She's a noisy girl when she vents like that!

That made me jump. Scared the heck out of me.
LEO is the ocean, not an island (let alone a continent). We create cruise liners to ride the oceans, not artificial islands in the middle of them. We need a physical place, which has physical resources, to make our future out there.

So up until 10 secs the crew can call an abort after that the internal computer calls it?

You mean now?  About 15% have logged off since T-0.
It's down by about half of the audience on Monday.

So what is T-0 for falcon? Liftoff or ignition?

Ignition starts at between T-4 and T-3 seconds with the TEA/TEB flash. At T-2 thrust appears to start ramping up.

Webcast clock timings should not be used as a good reference, neither should LCC audio. 3 separate streams and each of them usually lagging behind something of the other two.

Just listening to the loop.. with LC/MM asking GC/PROP about all the tanks that require refills etc. Damn. That is a LOT of tanks.
There's obviously the RP-1, LOX tanks as prop. The pressurant gases He, the ECS N2 purge tanks, the deluge tanks (Niagara).. but there were also a couple of others that I didn't get. Anyone catch all of them?

Also, does the first stage have GOX bleed valves at the BOTTOM of the stage (as well)? There seemed to be atleast five streams venting during nominal countdown. I looked closely, and it wasn't coming out of the engine bells, but from the rim of the stage. Any explanations? How does Merlin chilldown happen - is it very cold GOX that cools the bells from the outside? I would think you'd have to slowly chill the entire propellant flow path and not just the engine bells?

PS: For all the space history buffs: What other vehicles have had (safe, or otherwise) pad aborts post ignition? This is my first live one.

Happened to Shuttle a bunch, especially after the post-Columbia return to flight made everyone super cautious.

Shuttle? Really? Surprised, because that sounds like something I'd remember. Which one d'you recall?

The complete list is here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Space_Shuttle_abort_modes#Redundant_Set_Launch_Sequencer_.28RSLS.29_Abort
But the last one happened on STS-68 in 1994, way before the Columbia accident...
