I just received an email from ECVM at VANM.net. Stamps dot com is shipping my Gray line tickets by USPS Priority mail with a signature required. Estimated delivery is in 1 - 3 days.

@ Albireo
Thanks, that makes me feel a little bit better that they are using the express instead of priority.
Are you able to track it yet?
Up to now the tracking page opens and just says shipped on June 24, 2011, but no other details yet (it has a field saying "scan history" but that's empty).
Looks like Gray Line / Gator Tours shipped via Stamps.com (for the US?).
Shipment status is updated every evening.
USPS Confirmation Service Used
Signature Confirmation: Provides date, time and place of delivery. For added security, a signature of the recipient is required upon delivery.
Note: Status information may be provided while the package is enroute, but it is not a regular feature of the service.

All,
My office co-inhabitant has four Gator VIP Causeway tickets in his possession that it turns out he will not need. If you're interested in the tickets, PM me and I'll put you in touch with him ASAP.
FYI, my office mate has placed his tickets up on eBay...he has 5, and the current high bid is $1285. If anyone is interested, here is the link to the auction:
http://cgi.ebay.com/STS-135-NASA-VIP-Causeway-Viewing-5-Ticket-Package-/180686583319BTW, I'm not making anything off of his tickets. I just want to make sure that everyone who wants to go to the launch can go!

Just got my notification through GL/Gator about half an hour ago. Looks like it is coming through FedEx, just in case any other Canadian members are wondering....

Just found out that I have a spare ticket for KSC VC if anyone's interested. I haven't actually got them yet though and may not have time to post them back over to the US before the launch. I could arrange to meet someone the day before, or morning of the launch and hand them over then.
Let me know if anyone's interested.

...FDT does not allow reservations to be split up apparently, so they must be sold together.
Uhoh, really?
We got FDT tickets in all the madness the other week, even though we weren't sure we'd all be able to go. We figured better to have them in hand than miss out, right?
I asked the guy on the line a bunch of questions about what I would need to do if we had to sell any/all the tickets and he didn't mention this.

Also, I've been lurking here a lot recently (finally decided I might as well sign up), and I'm suddenly wondering why everyone seems so keen to get Gator tickets, and much less interested in FDT? Is it just because of the lack of flexibility in pick-up location, or is there something else I don't know about?
Thanks!!

I think the tickets come with one boarding pass, so, if you sell to 2+ separate people, they would need to meet up to board the bus together. Not too hard to negotiate, though of course one party has to then trust the other to turn up on time.
I would suspect people on here are on average more interested in Gator as they are often longer standing followers of the shuttle who are more likely to have booked space coast hotels months ago - in which case the Orlando pickup of FDT is useless. Gator are mailing tickets which makes reselling easier, and also FDT tickets being pickup only means getting into town early or more hassle in the small hours of bus boarding.
Tons of people on facebook seem to have FDT tickets and seem to be very happy with them.
Haven't travelled with either before, both seem to have had their ups and downs for previous launches.

Uhoh, really?
Really.

I called them myself and confirmed it this morning.
As Solaria mentioned, it just means that secondary buyers have to trust that the primary buyer would allow them to board, not be late, etc.
Realistically, the only way to handle it on a public business level would be sell your reservation package entirely to someone else, and then connect potential additional buyers with them. (if it were family, or close friends, you might be okay with responsible and trustworthy people)
Doing the reservation package piecemeal means someone might not get paid, or might not be allowed to claim their rightfully paid for ticket/seat, etc. Not a good idea; too many risks to take for all parties involved.
FWIW, I think (not sure though) that the Gator reservations are handled the same way regarding bus boarding; one pass per reservation. So, even though they may have mailed the tickets out, getting on board the bus still probably has the same complications if you want to split up the reservation package. (I'll know better early next week when my Gator tickets arrive)

I have bought Causeway tickets from FDT and the pickup point is the Festival Bay Mall.
I'm looking for a nice and not to expensive Hotel / Motel that is close to this location. Would be fun to meet up with other NSF members that will go to this pickup place. Even better if we stayed at the same hotel

So what hotel do you guys recommend?

I'm staying at the Quality Inn International. About a 5 min to festival bay by car and very reasonable.

Just to share my experiences......
I have been with Gator and FDT in the past. I can't really separate the 2. Both very similar. A lot of hanging around before hand. Don't be too excited about leaving the parking lot where they pick you up for at least an hour. This was the really frustrating thing for me. Being on time and even though all the buses were loaded we were still sat in the parking lot. Once you are moving though its fairly painless. Huge lines in the VC to re board the bus you got off just a hour or so previous however I fell in to the same trap most people did. Before you join the line with a green ticket (the end of the line is usually looping around the rocket garden) check at the front of the line where the kennedy bus tours sign is that you can't just join at that point and turn right as everyone else with orange LTT's goes left. In case of a scrub be prepared for a lot of hassle rebooking. We had to spend a large portion of the calling the tour company to re confirm for the following attempt and the drivers/ tour guides on the bus are not interested in the slightest but to be fair to them they take some serious agro on launch days from frustrated people.

I have stayed a the Quality Inn International and the Holiday Inn Express at 7276 International Drive. The Holiday Inn isn’t much more expensive and is way nicer and you also get a free breakfast. I’m paying 80 something a night this time.

Can anyone recommend any campgrounds that would be nearby? My 6 year old son and I are going down. I am trying to keep the cost down and plus he'll love the experience. We would be looking to sleep in a tent but have access to shower/restroom facilities.
Wireless to stay in touch with NSF would be a plus.

We usually stay at La Quinta on Consulate. It is good enough and a little cheaper, I think it is $69/night this time, we got it for around $50 for 134.

Public Service Announcement:
With all this discussion about hotels, I figure someone should bring this up again. Like Sarah said earlier in the thread, be vigilant wherever you end up staying; make sure you check for signs of Bed bugs everywhere in your room before you unload your items. They have been found everywhere from 1 to 5 star accommodations; no hotel in the industry is really immune. With the amount of tourist traffic Orlando and it's greater area sees, the odds are statistically higher that hotels will come in contact with the problem.
Five minutes of inspection work may save you weeks of aggravation and expense. That is one souvenir you DO NOT want to bring home with you.
