Exactly what I thought, thanks. Which leads me to my next question in he event of a scrub would anyone be interested in picking up a hitchhiker in return for some good gas money?

Anyone know if after a scrub at KSCVC with Central Florida Tours if I would be able to return in a car the following day with my ticket? Are the placard rules relaxed or does anyone who has a placard want to adopt a British passenger? Wanted to be on the causeway really but my Dad got me the wrong ticket while I was out at work
I think some of the answers you are getting might not actually answer your question.
From what I understand you have a ticket on a tour company for the launch. You are asking if there is a scrub if you would be able to return (I assume you meant the next launch day by "following day") with your tour company ticket to drive to the visitor center.
If it is a launch day the answer would be no. The only way you can drive to the visitor center on ANY launch day is riding the bus of a tour company or with the parking pass distributed with the tickets purchase directly from the visitor center. Since you got tickets through the tour company you don't have a parking pass and can't get one. It is possible for people to get extra parking passes but only if they have already purchased the launch tickets sold directly through the visitor center.
If there is a scrub you want to make sure you know how your tour company will arrange for you to go back out again on the next attempt. It varies depending on when the scrub is called and where they have transported you to. The best source of that info is directly from the tour company. I would research this beforehand as in the confusion of a scrub on launch day it is harder to get good info.
If it is not a launch day you can come in whenever you want without any special ticket before getting there...

Correct. Vouchers are issued I believe on your way back from the causeway to priority purchase.
Vouchers are given to KSC LTT Orange ticket holders on the way to board the bus. When you hand them your Orange ticket, they give you a voucher to purchase another LTT at the ticket window as you enter the VC. You will need one voucher per person in the event of a scrub.

OK. And if there was a scrub, and someone with a voucher couldn't use it on the next attempt, and I knew this because I saw the hang-dog look on his face getting off the KSC bus as it returns to the VC, where I have been all day long, he could (after a suitable excahnge of valuta) "transfer" it to me, and I could buy the LTT for the next attempt?

We were given a voucher when we handed our orange LTT ticket for 1st attempt for 134. It scrubbed while we were out at the causeway. Because not all the busses ha made it to the causeway they took our vouchers & gave us back orange tickets. This was only because not all busses made it to the causeway. Otherwise it was like $18 to rebut causeway tickets with the voucher.

Absolutely! A voucher is a voucher. After the first scrub of STS-128, my wife and I rode GrayLine back to Titusville, got our car and drove back to the VC. We waited in line at 3:00amand found out that we needed vouchers to buy Orange tickets. The two guys in line next to us (thank you again!) each had an extra voucher to give us and we were able to get LTT tickets. The people in the ticket booth watched the whole thing and sold us the tickets. If you have a ride or a parking placard and any Blue Launch day ticket to get into the VC (KSC, Dolphin or Gray Line) and an Orange LTT ticket, you are good to go to the Causeway.

Nothing for me yet, but the email said they would ship by June 24th, so I have a few days before I can justify worrying. (I'm still going to!)
Never got a shipping notice, but my tickets showed up today! Very excited. I did get 2 parking placards with the 6 tickets I ordered. (sorry, all are spoken for)

Which lottery were you in? Was it the one on Wed the 15th? I haven't received any e-mail or shipping notice or anything since the purchase. Should I be concerned?

I was in the first lottery on the 10th.
I wouldn't be concerned yet. The original lottery email (which said I got in) said tickets would be sent by the 24th. Not sure if the 2nd round had a later date or not, but I was planning to start worrying on the 24th+3 business days (to allow for shipping). I'm in Michigan, so might need to add another day or so if you're farther away from Florida than I.

Proposed STS-135 event in Melbourne - Australia
Given that this is the last time we will ever see a space shuttle launch, plans are being drawn up to have a gathering to watch the walk out, strap in, close out, count down and launch of Atlantis on NASA TV. And to see her get to orbit safely and savour the multi angle launch replays...
The launch is scheduled for 1:26 AM Saturday July 9 (late Friday night) in Melbourne, we need someone to open their home/office/multi media home theatre with suitable broadband connection and display for the group to share, we'll bring the 'launch beans'!
Go to
www.space.asn.au and we will post any updates as details are worked out.

Hi. What arrival time was indicated on the parking placards?
Will all parking placards for the launch have the same arrival time? Thanks.

4am

I'm sure they're staggered - that's the point, so they don't have everyone arriving at the same time. One thing I'm confused about though - it says not to arrive
before your scheduled time. But it also says if you arrive after you might not be let in. So are we supposed to get there at 4am exactly? I'm sure they're lenient, but would appreciate a little clarity.

having been to kscvc with launch tickets before don't get too uptight about the placard arrival time. go earlier if you are inclined, Be there a good 4 hours or so before launch would be my latest arrival time for a regualr launch. THE last launch, due to traffic feeding into area of non ticket holders just allow a little extra time. I believe all access is blocked around t-2hours for ticket holders. That is also about the last time buses go out to causeway. Have fun

Just wondering what shipping method they are using and if it specifies in your email. I have yet to receive an email, although they did state on their facebook page they are sending out international orders first.
I'm in Canada and had spoken to them a few days prior to the ticket sale, as I was concerned that I would not receive the tickets on time due to our postal strike.
They told me they would be using courier (ie. FedEx) but on my bill it says USPS priority international. I checked the USPS website, and that states delivery in 6-10 days. Just beginning to worry a little bit.

Was the same for me - the receipt said priority international, so I started to worry a bit. But on the email it says express mail international, which should take 3-5 business days to Europe, at least I hope so.

Thanks, that makes me feel a little bit better that they are using the express instead of priority.
Are you able to track it yet?

Up to now the tracking page opens and just says shipped on June 24, 2011, but no other details yet (it has a field saying "scan history" but that's empty).
