All,
My office co-inhabitant has four Gator VIP Causeway tickets in his possession that it turns out he will not need. If you're interested in the tickets, PM me and I'll put you in touch with him ASAP.

Out of curiosity, where is the A/B Camera stop?
On the topic of scrubs, I was thinking about a comment my colleague made after the launch of STS-130. He commented that having gone through the scrub the night before made watching the launch far more emotional. I agree after going to KSC three days and not seeing STS-127 launch and waiting a week to watch STS-128 it was quite cathartic to watch STS-130 go up on an early, cold February Florida morning. That said, I would love to see Atlantis go right on schedule. but if it doesn't...you may find it even more impressive to watch when it does.
It's right on the beachline, about halfway between pads 39 A and B.
Just a note worth mention here, to avoid too much disappointment: The Today & tomorrow tour usually does NOT go to the observation posts past 39A when there is a shuttle on the pad. At best you should expect a stop on the 39B observation spot, which is pretty useless for photos of 39A since the entire structure is in the way.
For 134 I took this tour in high hopes of getting some spectacular photos of Endeavour on pad, only to discover we stopped at the crawlerway gantry just like the free tours do.
A far better tip, if you want to get as close to the pad as possible, would be to take the tour after the launch.

I may have a spare ticket for KSC VC, I won't know for a few days. If it's not going to be used then I'd like to sell it on for face value. My only issue is that I'm travelling from abroad and won't be arriving in the U.S until the day before the launch. If I was to bring the spare ticket with me to the pick up point in the morning, will there be people there looking to buy tickets? I'm just wondering how best to sell it and wondered if people head out to the pick up points in the hopes of buying tickets there.

Would you buy a Causeway Ticket from this guy (I won't):
I was checking Craigslist for STS-135 tickets and found a posting for 6 NASA Causeway tickets with lunch with an astronaut for $800. The posting was on the Seattle Craigslist where my sister lives. She could do a local face to face if she wanted. I sent an email to the seller and here is the response from a "Murray Junker":
hi,
Thank you for your interest in my tickets.
My name is Chaloner Iftekhar and i am located in Las Vegas,NV.i will shipp the tickets via UPS overnight on my cost.
The price for the 6 tickets is 800 $.
Because i am new on craigslist i will do this transaction only through eBay.In order to start the transaction through eBay reply me with your full name, address and your eBay id.eBay will send you an invoice how to purchase the tickets from me.
Please check my feedback :

Be careful with the listings on craigslist. I replied to one a few weeks ago with an excellant price for causeway tickets. I received a reply that the seller wanted me to go through craigslist. They asked me for my ebay username and address which I provided. Later, I received an email from "eBay". For final payment, I was to use Western Union. Something didn't seem right, eventhough the "eBay" email looked authentic. So, I forwarded this email to eBay's customer service "spoof" department and asked them whether it was sent by them. eBay's response was that this was a scam, a phishing email.

Looks like trouble to me too. First, it's a righteous price. For "open market" it's about as good as I've seen - close to 'too good to be true' category. Then, that specified seller "the*ocean" has an excellent e-bay reputation...but doesn't list the tickets there? All he has up for sale now is 2 fourth row tickets to the San Jose show for (get ready to squeal in your best high-pitched teen age girl voice) New Kids On The Block and Backstreet Boys!!!

Absolutely a scam. Any Craigslist posting that asks you to use ebay or complete the transaction online is a scam. If you're looking for tickets on Craigslist I would only on the local Florida one.

While we're on the subject... It appears one cannot use the "bus tour" LTT unless you actually ride the bus. Is that true? And, if there's a legit deal for "Causeway only, no parking placard" can I combine those with a parking placard that came (will come) with my VC tix?

You have to ride the Gray Line or FDT bus from the hotel/Mall pickup location to KSC in order to ride their bus to the Causeway.
The parking placard gets you into the parking lot (and maybe through security to the parking lot after the access is restricted). You can then use valid STS-135 launch tickets to get into the Visitor Center at KSC. Parking placards are not tied to specific tickets.

I assumed he meant that if he found KSC causeway tickets for sale with no parking placard, could he use his parking placard that he got with his VC tickets to park at the VC and then use KSC causeway tickets to board KSC busses. I don't see why he couldn't......

Absolutely! I had a VC Center ticket and parking placard for STS-132. I bought an orange LTT ticket from a guy in the bar and off to the Causeway I went.

That is not true, I took the tour twice, once in November, and again in February, both times with Discovery on the pad, just 2 days prior to launch both times, and we made the A/B Camera stop. I know other people who also have made the stop other times with a shuttle on the pad. They normally only skip it (and then go to the Observation Gantry instead) if there is some servicing going on at the pad that could endanger the public, such as fuel loading / unloading, etc. See my post earlier in this thread (Pg 53) of a picture I had on my phone from the A/B stop with Discovery right there, though from the tank side.

The Bus tour tickets are always a green LTT ticket, the KSC LTT ticket is Orange. They won't let you on the KSC bus to the causeway with that green ticket. You'll have to stick with the bus tour I am afraid unless you come up with Orange LTTs.

I'm glad to hear it - I must just have been unlucky then (getting to be a habit it seems)
The caution still applies though - there being no guarantee the T&T tour taking you to the A/B stop while the shuttle is on the pad (although the reasons being more complicated than that)

Does anyone know why the KSC scanner feed isn't working?!? I normally have that blaring all day listening to ops & plane traffic... It's been off for what seems like weeks now. Not sure where to post this question as it doesn't fit in pad flow.

That's exactly what I meant, but I appreciate the clarification re: colors. So a green/bus LTT will not work, but if I can snag an Orange one, I'm golden?

Yes, a parking plaacard is just for parking, does not matter what ticket(s) you posess at that point. The Blue Visitor's Center ticket will get you inside, and if you have the Orange (might be Red also, I have not seen this launches tickets in person yet, my 131 LTT ticks seemed more of a red to me, lol. just no GREEN !!) LTT ticket, you're on the KSC bus to the causeway!!

here's the type of tickets. I know the red tickets are NASA guest and they board buses at the left side of the ticket plaza and go to the Apollo V centre for the launch ....

Just wanted to report in - I will be attending this launch from US1 in Titusville. Last time I went to a shuttle launch was last year during STS-130 and it scrubbed, but I will be there for the entire weekend too, so I have a good shot at seeing it

I took it in 09 (was the "KSC up close" tour), and it we went to the A/B stop when Atlantis was on 39A for 125 and Endeavour was on 39B for the LON mission. That was cool!
