Just aheads up. I know it 3 weeks away
We didn't make a shirt with it but we did make a patch for STS-135What console was that atand when?
Edit: nevermind on the time, got that from the EXIF info.
Finally have internet back on at home! Yeah! (Have it at work, but only have limited time to be on it, been so busy).
I was looking forward to getting to KSC a day early and do a tour, particularly the Today and Tomorrow tour. All the time slots are SOLD OUT! I'm sooo disappointed! Could do it Sat am, but then again, what the use? The shuttle will have lifted off.
Suggestions? Thoughts? Does the regular KSC tour (the one leaving every 15 min or so) do similar things as the today and tomorrow tour?
What are the odds of a no-show for the tour and my getting 2 tix on the spot? Probably slim...

Keep a keen eye on the processing thread for the next few days. If the launch gets delayed a day or more, then you could call and immediately book the Today & Tomorrow tour and see Atlantis on the pad. That's what happened for me back in November during Discovery's first string of launch attempts. I thought I was going to miss out on the tour but due to the delays I was able to call in right after the delay was mentioned here (which is really before 99% of people catch wind of it) and booked the tour no problem.
Now maybe Atlantis will cooperate and launch on-time, but if her two sisters are any indication, there's a decent chance of a delay for something-or-other. Just be ready to call and book the tour as soon as you hear about any possible delay in the launch date.
Good luck! The A/B Camera Stop is the highlight of the tour (which is otherwise not all that spectacular IMHO), and it's definitely worth seeing--the closest us regular joes can get to the shuttle and an unobstructed view of the ET and SRBs.
OMG!!!!!!
So, I applied for Congressional tickets as soon as I knew the funding for 135 was approved…but heard nothing.
I applied to KSCVC lottery for causeway tickets…didn’t get picked.
I tried for the tweetup…still nothing.
KSVC did pick me for the secondary lottery, but no causeway tickets available.
I have resigned myself to watching this launch on TV. Big disappointment, but what could I expect? It’s the last one and everyone wants to go. Nasa Legislative affairs sent me an email today asking if I want in with the congressional tickets…can you say YES!!!!!!
So it looks like I’m going to the launch afterall. Need to set up hotels and planes now. The one question I have is: Is there a launch window on Friday Saturday and Sunday? I’m thinking of flying down Thurdsday night and staying til Sunday.
Anyway, is the camera stop on that tour the same as the one on the "regular" (free) tour?

No, the free tour takes you to the viewing gantry, which is in front of the launch pad. Due to the RSS you cannot see the orbiter itself, and can only see the tips of the left SRB and ET.
The A/B Camera Stop is behind the launch pad, so while you still can't see the orbiter you at least get a full view of both SRBs and the ET.
The Today & Tomorrow tour also goes to the causeway, but again the RSS will block your view. I wasn't able to get a picture of Discovery herself until launch day (from the causeway).

Just had to register to say thanks to everyone who's been posting info here; this forum, and this thread in particular, has been a goldmine. I've been wanting to see a launch in person since I was a 6 year old watching STS-1 live on TV, so bit the bullet and bought a flight from the UK earlier this week for 135. I missed out on the lottery and then thought I'd missed the GL/DT tickets yesterday but thankfully managed to nab a Causeway ticket with Gray Line this morning.
I'm booked to fly home on the 22nd but I've told work that if it's delayed past then they'll have to do without me for a bit longer
Geez this place is going to be a madhouse..... I'm thinking if we scrub at all I'm just going to stay here and sleep in the jeep, lol. Considering by the time I get home I'll have to turn back around again!
