Glad so many people seem to have eventually got what they wanted - especially Madame Concorde! Patience is eventually rewarded....
We have yet to book flights/hotels,but have found some nice packages. Still waiting for the outcome of June 28th before we book, just for a little more reassurance.
1) I still have 7th-9th booked at the Holiday Inn Titusville, 266.38 USD, 2 queen beds if anyone should want it (No longer need Causeway ticket currency).
2) I am likely to have one, perhaps two Gator Causeway packages to sell with Victoria Sq Plaza (Merritt Island) pickup. Just looking for cost+shipping.
3) Is anyone from the UK yet-to-book flights? Just wondered if it was worth liaising, would be fun to have some company on the way over. I will be doing price research next week though leaving it as late as possible to book.
If anyone has information on the NASA International guest program and where it fits in the pecking order of viewing locations etc, I'd now be extremely interested ;-) I'm guessing with it being the last launch its just going to be Causeway, is it equivalent/the same to congressional passes? Do congressional Causeway holders just go to same east-end of Causeway as KSC/lottery tickets or do their buses stop on the west end before the drawbridge? I know Banana Creek is only a small area and I expect it will be rammed.....but still daydreaming.....
Couldn't find flights for less than circa £600 for the dates surrounding the launch, so a package works out at the same cost (plus they throw in a free hire car!). I've found some handy sites with cheap flights/packages if you need any help. A few of which I have used before so I trust them. -

The browser you use isn't going to make a difference. The server is getting more requests than it can serve up. If the server is busy it's busy and it won't respond to your request and then you timeout. The browser you use isn't going to change that.
Hi Sarah - Was just reporting what others posted on the Gator Facebook page. People were reporting different errors with Chrome and some said they could never get past the "Service Unavailable" page with IE. Personally I used Firefox and got my tickets by 2pm ET. I also had IE open just in case one browser should act up. I was NEVER able to get anything other than Service Unavailable with IE (refreshing at the same time as Firefox) but was able to get in multiple times using Firefox to get tickets. Didn't even know there might be anything to it until I went on the Gator Facebook page. -

Trade Child<->Adult?
I bought a block of 6 tickets and they are all Adult.
Have one child going. If you happened to have ended up with a Child ticket and need an Adult, maybe can work out a trade near the security gate or something.
You can use Adult ticket for child. -

I had this same "sold out" when I checked the page after I got up this morning.
Some might come up later. They will have to clean up their orders and see who bught what so there may be some more Causeway pkgs out on sale but I bet there will be only few. -

If you're talking about trees obscuring the pad, the answer is no. (the bed of your pickup won't help. I have seen people stand on top of their large fifth wheel motorhome in the lot, and they claim it helps)
Many people choose the memorial wall, the rocket garden, or the big grassy field by the playground though to get as low an angle of attitude as possible on the initial trajectory.
But when I was on the grounds for STS133, I chose to stand in the far corner of the center, which is nearest the traffic light that you turn into the VC parking lot.
From that position, you have a relatively clear shot (via a low angle of attitude due to the clear space afforded by the large intersection of the two roads) and can even sneak some shade from the large overhead display of the ET/SRB assembly. Stay to the middle left side of the ET/SRB assembly, and you'll have a nice clear view. (the right side has a single tree at the railing that partially obscures the launch trajectory view)

i want those hours of my life back, reloading all of those 503 errors yesterday. and all of the hours in the weeks before, stressing about whether i'd even get a causeway ticket.
they'll probably sell out in a matter of minutes, but at the moment it's like yesterday never happened. -

I think the word is spreading; I'm 'intermittently' getting 'Service Unavailable' all over again. (not that I really should even be clicking on it... since I've got what I need and then some...)
As for the stress; This is the last shuttle launch EVER. EVER.
You knew there'd be stress and frustration in trying to get Causeway tickets; it goes with the territory of every launch, and it's bound to be worse given the symbolic nature of this launch. Just acknowledge that, and enjoy the fact that you are secure in knowing you secured tickets early, and didn't chance it by waiting until the last minute.
