Always the same vicious circle. When I get to payment stage, it gets me back to the Service Unavailable 503 error message.
Then I lose it all and have to start it all over again.
Paypal or Visa, Gator is never accessible for payment and on and on we go...
Been 6 hours now... I am totally fried... :-(

Alright, so I FINALLY got my ticket from FDT... oh no, only one ticket! I need two! Does anyone have a spare FDT ticket? Or be willing to trade a pair of Gray Line tickets for one FDT plus cash?

Edit: Nevermind, magically got through to the good people at FDT and was able to add the second ticket to my existing order, yay!

Florida Dolphin Tours did - they saw they were being hammered by specific network addresses and decided to switch their online ordering off and go phone orders only. It's working well - people are getting through - I got 4 causeway from them on 0014073525151 - not sure when they close check Florida dolphin tours on Facebook their putting regular updates in there
Also - it's much easier for eBay sharks to write a computer program to try and by tix over and over again - much faster than human hands. Whereas phone lines.....
You bet the fleabay sharks are getting their packages while we are here struggling for hours and hours for one or two tix and we are getting nowhere.
Can't the Gators block these sharks damned IPs?
Haven't they thought of that?

Holy crap.
I think I just screwed myself. (to the benefit of the NSF community probably)
I may have two extra VIP tickets through FDT.
I'm going to let the dust settle for a day and call them back tomorrow to see if it's for real. (I did get an email confirmation finally, so maybe it's for real)
The only problem? I had given up on FDT since I never heard back from my 'help, my card was charged but I got no confirmation' email I sent and started banging on the Gator Tour site until I got through. Once I did, I quickly bought two tickets there! (Had to borrow a relatives credit card... this should be interesting to explain to the family...)
I'll keep NSF posted if someone else manages to not get their own tickets, maybe I'll be able to help someone here out. It's the least I can do for the invaluable info this place provided me with throughout STS133.

Is Gator mailing tickets to the buyers?
FDT told me that I had to pick them up... =\
If I'm flying in on a redeye flight due to a lack of vacation days for work time off, how the heck am I supposed to get them?
E.
I'd verify with them if it was critical to my plans, but FYI... FDT posted this on their Facebook page yesterday evening, approx. 7:30 pm CDT: "correct, no mailing of tickets. a few reasons: we have no confirmed date that we will have physical tickets in hand. canada postal strike. 18 of the previous 20 launches we have sold have been will call without issue.
as always if you cannot collect ticket prior to launch day, they will be taken to the pickup location on the morning of, obviously having to collect them there will delay your boarding slightly."

I have now passed the 7 hours constantly slaving away trying to get one package from Gator without any success.
It always fails when I reach the payment stage.
The Gator servers bug out. I can't pay either Paypal or visa get scrubbed.
I don't know what to think anymore.

I recommend that you try to call FDT instead as several persons have been lucky getting their tickets that way.
Well I have tried that too, for everal hours.
Haven't had any luck getting through so far.

I am looking at viewing the launch from Spaceview Park. Does anyone have any idea when the parking lots in the surrounding areas will start filling? Basically when should we start laying claim to our area?

I'm in the UK and may have up to six spare tickets, since I've got confirmation of two from Gator and have been charged for a four (too many in the basket but did not see a way to remove and did not want to risk losing the lot) and a two (did not know if the fourhad gone through) from Dolphin - have emailed them to see what is going on.
As regards advice, I got all mine by the two hour mark, by using Firefox. For Gator, I found it much easier to pay via Paypal - you can get to the Paypal site (where you enter your payment details directly) and bypass the main checkout screen by clicking on "View Cart" on the right rather than "Checkout" once the tickets are added, then select "Checkout with Paypal". Once the PP bit is done, you're directed back to Gator but there is less opportunity for things to break as the payment is done and dusted.
Once on the Gator checkout screen (Paypal or not!), if you have the greyed out payment options, it seems best to go back and reload the checkout page - I have only had this happen after attempting a card payment which was rejected (no idea why - perhaps the UK address or postcode format is not recognised), which reloads a subtley different version of the page. If the "State" dropdown has just the name of each US state plus "Other" you should be good, but if it's the version with each state prefixed with "U.S. - " and no "Other" option at the top then you may want to reload.
If it's the "Submit Order" button that is grey, you should only need to enter your details for the address and payment and click "Apply". If they are already present then just hit "Apply" anyway. You may get "Please Wait" or equivalent semi-transparent popups over three areas of the screen - you can hit "Submit Order" while the one over the ticket details and price is still present and the order should proceed anyway. On the next screen, wait for the confirmation screen to load rather than clicking the "click here if page does not load" link.
N.B. this is just what worked for me! I obviously cannot give any guarantees but since my 2 hours for a pair of tickets seems a relatively good result I would dearly like to help others achieve their dream. If anyone can get me on the shuttle I am willing to talk terms

Madame Concorde - I sent you a PM also. If using Gator Tours (
http://www.graylinecfl.com/STS-135-NASA-Causeway-Viewing-VIP-Package.html) try this:
(1) Seems Firefox is working better for most people
(2) Keep refreshing
(3) When you get to the point to checkout, some of us found it useful to fill out our personal info (name, address, email, phone) first, then click Apply. Then fill out your credit card info. Make sure to check the box to agree to the Terms and Conditions and then click Submit.
I did have to refresh multiple times before I got to the Your order is being processed page. There's a message about if you're not redirected in a couple of secs to click another link. I waited and glory of glories saw the Receipt/Confirmation page!

I have used nothing but firefox all along. I never use any other browser.
I finally got through to buying one package
after spending... 8 hours and 18 minutes... without taking a break.
I am totally wiped out feeling like a zombie.
It is now past 2.00 AM my time. I started slaving on this at 6.00 PM my time.
These people are useless putting us through such hardship because of their rotten servers.
This is all I can say.

Wish I had known that before I started banging away on Gator's site. LOL.
I'm gonna call FDT tomorrow and see what they have to say, but does anyone have a guess as to what their transfer policy is? If I don't have the tickets in my possession, seems like it might be difficult to transfer them to another person that needs them...

(who obviously paid me back for them)
