Some quick math: 1,744 on Facebook + 525 on Twitter + ?? on the mailing list, added and divided by 4, would indicate possibly less than 1,000 tickets available.
Keep in mind that there are mostly likely duplicates; people that are on all three lists--thus difficult to guess the numbers.
Thanks for that excellent thought, I'm sure you're right.

If anyone knows the number of busses that FDT and Gator have used in the past, that may be helpful. Supposedly lack of enough busses is the fundamental reason that NASA allots tickets to them---
So if we knew the number of busses x their capacity, we would have an idea of what they've had in the past---

I see FDT is not doing pre-registration this time. That made it so easy to get tickets for the last launch. I didn't have to do anything.

This is the last ever Space Shuttle launch so everybody and their brothers/uncles/cousins/nephews coming from the world over will want to get tickets. It will be tight.
Last chance.
Those with congressional invites/press passes are the really lucky ones.

Anyone know when is the best time to book flights to see Atlantis launch?
Is July 8th the CONFIRMED date? I read that they will confirm OFFICIALLY sometime in the next few week weeks.
Thanks!

Where will you be flying from?
Do you want to fly in First, Business or Economy class?
The more you can afford to pay, the less restrictions you will have.

First ever poster here. Last launch I saw was STS-114, drove from Atlanta to Titusville the day before, and slept in my car parked by Space Park. Woke up watched the launch and drove home. It was great just wished I could have been a little closer.
I have signed up for everything I can sign up, and still waiting.
I would actually be very pleased with KSVC viewing, unlike the Causeway tickets everyone seems to seek. If someone happens to have a few, pretty please with sugar on top?
I get

when I look at the FleaBay speculators, gouging the space fans. I wish tickets were only to be used by the named holder, that would be the end of that. Sure it'd be a pain if you couldn't make it, but you could turn it in and some other true fan would get their shot. If I had a ticket I couldn't use I would find a worthy friend and sell it to them at cost not $900.
I always thought there would be more time to see a manned launch close up, and now suddenly there isn't.

Per NASA Tweetup on Twitter:
"We'll let you know via tweet when NASATweetup selection emails are sent. Probably ~3 more hours."
That was posted about an hour ago. Good luck to all who entered!!
Just got my email. I was selected!!!
Splendid! I just got the other message: "We regret to inform you..."

I booked flights and hotel the day the NET date was announced. It doesn't cost me anything to change dates. Plus it's always been cheaper to do it in advance as much as possible. You just have to be careful who you book flights/hotels through.

It's never really "confirmed" until after the agency FRR, but there is nothing out there suggesting it will be delayed from a technical perspective.

Well done, man. Congratulations. I'm still waiting on what is overwhelmingly likely to be a rejection, but now at least I "know" someone who is going.
Wonder if @sethgreen will be back for this launch? (I understand prior #NASAtweetup Tweeps who were unable to attend the rescheduled STS-134 launch are being invited back.)

I am waiting until they will be done with the tanking tests and then I will book the hotel.
Let's hope all will be for the better.
Then the tickets... that's a whole different story.
Going through fleabay will be a rip off no doubt. Think of scalpers who used auto registration programs to get over 1200 tickets.

That's some pretty strong speculation. On what facts are you basing that assertation?
That would be a lot of separate credit cards/addresses to maintain.

Can't comment on the auto-registration but just saw this on Craigslist....

They each took around 50 buses to the causeway and more to the VC. The bus I was on for STS-133 was from Tennessee, so they bring them in from all over the southeast.

OK, do you know how to get to see the shuttle launch and get paid for it?
Get a gig as a bus driver to the causeway!
