what the procedure for re-issuing LTT tickets if they scrub at the last minute? Do we have to go get them the day of the retry, or can we get them the day of the scrub? Where/How would we get them?

Still looking to find out what Cocoa Beach traffic was like 4 hours before launch on STS-134 as a starting point to help predict STS-135 traffic.
Does route 1A North become a parking lot or is most of the traffic in and around the Titusville area?

If you have tickets from KSC, you'll get a little voucher with instructions - it's first come, first serve, on the day of the scrub. For tour bus company tickets, they supposedly handle things for you, and will presumably give you instructions.

Charlie Bolden dashing for his car with an umbrella.
Avoiding the temptation for a joke there
He was hustled through by security pretty quick, though Lori Garver at the time of her presentations, you could approach her one-on-one, though few did. Amazing day - met several Astronauts, John Logsdon, the NASA Edge guys Chris and Blair, Keith Cowing and the legendary Launch Director, Bob Sieck! He remembred me from 1996 when I was last here, or at least gave a good impression that he remembered!! Hoping desperately to make it to the NSF dinner tonight. Going to the RSS retract - second group real soon. Wireless net connection very spotty here, so probably can't report much more. Later....

We are sitting on the ground at MIA. ATC has affected a ground hold for traffic to MCO due to convective weather. If you are waiting for someone to arrive, lots of flights inbound to MCO were diverted to TPA.

You bet. Horrible storm here at MCO. Looks like it is moving away but it will take a while to clear.

Terrible storm brewing here in Jacksonville, too. What's the chance they scrub this thing tonight before we all start heading down? I'd rather they scrub to a morning with less probably low cloud cover, personally. If this is my last chance to see one of these (from the Visitors Center), I'd like to actually see something.

Very minimal - it's been explained in the processing thread already if you want more info.

Remember that if it is scrubbed, your blue KSCVC ticket will give you admission to the KSCVC during any future launch attempt(s). If you definitely want to see a Shuttle launch, the only way to guarantee it is to keep going back for each attempt, as many times as necessary, until it finally does get off the ground.
At least in the event of a week long+ scrub, you don't have to make the journey to Florida from the opposite coast twice as I did for 134.

Hello!
Arrived yesterday in Orlando with three little ones (ages 9, 6 and 3). We're wondering if anyone can recommend at what time to begin the drive over to Titusville. We're thinking of waiting until the tanking decision is made at about 01:30, but if everyone else is thinking the same, will Rts 50 and 528 turn into parking lots just after tanking starts at 02:00? The kids know that they'll be sleeping in the car, but regardless, any advice would be appreciated!

I would say that if you aren't heading out now that would be the next best time to decide to head out. I don't think the traffic going out will be bad until 5-6AM and that depends on which route you will take.

Just got to Orlando from Texas and man is it looking dreary. Hit some bad storms coming in, too. Still no luck with getting causeway tickets (yet, but keeping my fingers crossed!), but wanted to say thanks to everyone here who has been helpful to me and others who may or may not really have any idea what we're doing; but just want to experience the awesomeness of this upcoming launch. The info in this thread has already been super helpful, now we just have to hope the weather gives us a small break. Thanks again!

Folks, a call for help here. I just flew in from Ireland and arrived at my hotel to find that their wireless isn't working. I specifically booked a hotel with wifi in order to keep up to date on launch news. I've found a working wifi in the lobby of the hotel next door. My question is this; if there is a scrub announced pior to my 03:30 pickup do I still need to go there to buy a ticket for the next attempt or can I stay in bed and go to the bus for the next attempt and pay then? Will i lose my seat for a saturday launch, for example if i don't show tomorrow morning? What happens if scrubs are announced prior to each pick-up? Do I still need to go out each morning to pay and book my spot? It's too late now to phone Central Florida Tours and I don't want to spend taxi fare to the pick-up point and back each morning if avoidable. I will go get some food now and come back here later to check for any replies. Thanks in advance and here's hoping for a miraculous break in the clouds!
