I'm not staying far from the Gator office 5-7th and will probably have a hire car, if you need assistance
YGPM :-)
Likewise, I am picking tickets up from Florida Dolphin Tours on Thursday the 7th if anyone who does not have a car needs a ride to pick up tickets........

I'll be visting both Dolphin and Gator from the Ramada Gateway Kissimmee on the evening of the 6th or morning of the 7th and will have a hire car until the 8th - just too difficult to get to the 2AM pickups without! Will also be driving to KSC on the 7th for a pre-launch look around, and will be in the UK until the 6th for fellow limeys

Plenty of opportunities for a meet up if anyone needs a hand. I also have tickets both wanted and available - swaps or face value + my (small!) bank charges incurred when I purchased the tickets in $ (yes, will consider swapping Causeway for Discover KSC!), but please note that I do need to end up with two tickets from somewhere for us.
AVAILABLE:
2 x Gator tickets with Holiday Inn International Airport pickup
2 x Dolphin tickets with Festival Mall pickup
WANTED:
2 x Gator tickets with Best Western Lakeside pickup
2 x Discover KSC: Today & Tomorrow tour tickets for 7th July

WANTED:
2 adult admission (blue tix)
2 LTT (orange tix)
1 placard
Anybody have extras? Long shot, I know, but the ebay scalpers are really making my blood boil!

When I couldn't make the rescheduled 134 launch, I put my Florida Dolphin Tours tix up for face value plus what it took to offset the ebay, paypal and shipping costs (which were about $100, talk about robbery!). There must be something wrong with me!!! I should have taken all their money and the baby's milk, too! What was I thinking?

So, a change of plans.
My wife is now three weeks out from delivery of our second child. She has become very vocally opposed to me going to the launch next week. Even though she'd still be a solid two weeks away from expected delivery, she doesn't want me traveling.
With a gut wrenching sadness, I sold my two remaining Gator tickets last night.

Enjoy the launch everyone. Soak in being a part of history.
I'll be watching from my living room at my computer desk.

Sorry! But think about the joy of a child. Our first came 4 weeks early, only 2 weeks after I had traveled to NYC to see a Maiden show. Imagine what trouble I'd have been in if that girl had come when I was away! I shudder to think...
And, congrats, dad!

If anyone is looking for lodging I released a reservation at the Titusville Hampton Inn earlier this morning, decided that with my FDT pickup for the causeway being in Orlando that it made more sense to book a lower cost hotel in Orlando than to stay on the coast. Online they don't appear to be listing it as available, but you might be able to get it if you call the hotel directly...
Also for those of you staying in Orlando without cars of your own I will have a rental car, and will be driving out to the visitor center at KSC on the 9th as I have a "Cape Canaveral: Then and Now" tour booked for that day. Haven't done that tour yet, and wanted to get it in while I was down for this attempt. If anyone would like to catch a ride with me that day to KSC visitor center that day let me know and we can try and work something out. Depending on how my flight/hotel check-in plays out on the 7th I might also be able to do this for the NSF dinner on the evening of the 7th.

We will be staying at the Hampton Inn & Suites Lake Mary At Colonial Townpark in Lake Mary, north of Orlando.
Anyone else staying there?
And can anyone suggest how early to leave for Space View Park in Titusville? Looks like we'd be taking Highway 46 all the way over, then Highway 1 down to Titusville.
I read on another site about someone parking a half-mile south of the park and then walking up to it to view a previous launch. Can anyone give pointers about what might be a good alternate place to park in Titusville?
Meanwhile, everyone who is able to make it, enjoy the launch! This is my first one, so I'm pretty excited.

Any recommendations for places to visit or a good eating spot near the Merritt Island Mall/Cocoa Beach area the afternoon following the launch? Doesn't seem to make sense to spend hours in traffic back to Orlando when we can return later in the evening.

What type of dining were you looking for as there are a lot choices in the area?
If you like seafood, Grills in the port comes highly recommended. I don't eat seafood so I usually order the beef kabobs, but my family/friends say the seafood is fantastic. On typical Fridays you can expect a 45 minute wait, and I'm sure this will only be worse Friday after the launch.
If you enjoy wings, Frankies has been a long time favourite in the space coast. They used to be in the port but closed years ago due to family matters, but have reopened in Merritt Island. They have 9 levels of "heat" for their wings the hottest being called "Dial 911".
The CB pier has amazing burgers and a great grilled chicken ceasar if you are looking for something a little lighter. I'm expecting the beach/pier will be pretty busy that day, which is okay if you don't mind crowds.
I you are looking more for franchise type restaurants like the Outback or Applebees, there are plenty of those scattered all around the Merritt Island Mall.

For people still looking to secure accommodation in the Titusville area for the launch, I’ve just (10 mins ago) cancelled a booking for one King Room at the Days Inn Kennedy Space Center (on SR 50 – Cheney Highway – just a few miles from US 1) as I’ll now be staying elsewhere. Unsurprisingly, it appears to have been fully booked. It’s for eight nights beginning 7th July (check in from 15:00).
The reservation was made through Booking.com several weeks ago at their regular rate of about $60 per night (inc. VAT). Perhaps if you’re quick and book through them you may be able to secure the same rate even at this late stage. Good luck to all prospective attendees – now back to watching the Nadal-Murray match at Wimbledon (one set all and deuce as I type)! DSW

How jammed was Cocoa Beach traffic 4 hours before STS-134 launch? I've got to get from Melbourne to Cocoa Beach by 8am for a pickup on STS-135 launch day.

We bought an extra Visitors Center ticket because we were short one, but it's a 7am ticket and the rest of the tickets we have are 5am tickets. Our parking placard is 5am.
How closely does KSC enforce the visitors center ticket arrival time? If we show at 5am will they allow us to use the 7am ticket?
Thanks,
Jason

I doubt you'll have any trouble. I'd never noticed the arrival time on the VC ticket itself, but maybe because it always matched my parking placard time.
The times are to avoid everyone showing up at once, at the last minute. If anything, showing up a bit earlier is probably preferable from their point of view.

Just spent my kid's future on ebay to get on the causeway.
I'm secure in the knowledge that scalpers have their own private level of you-know-where waiting for them in the afterlife...
Now let's go Atlantis!!!
See you guys there.

Been noticing on ebay the Causeway tix/placard 'direct' from NASA are more expensive than the "VIP Package" by bus.
