The flash Chris mentioned looks like an optical effect...

Nah, it looks like a flareup of the engine plume. Not unusual for Proton, you can see smaller ones all the time.

As the Breeze M upper stage of our Proton M rocket continues its climb into space with the XM-5 satellite, we have received confirmation that the 2nd burn of the upper stage occurred and shut down as scheduled.

Sirius XM-5 Reaches the Targeted Orbit.

On Oct. 14, at 22:53 Moscow time, Proton-M rocket with Breeze-M upper stage successfully lifted off from Baikonur to orbit Sirius-XM5 satellite.
The launch was performed by Roscosmos companies. After separation of the rocket`s third stage, Breeze-M upper stage continued injection of the satellite.

This morning, at 08.05 MSK, in line with the injection sequence, the satellite separated from the upper stage. Sirius XM-5 is now in the targeted orbit.

Does anyone knows when the Proton-M components were delivered in Baykonur?
