Americans in Orbit-50 Years
« on: 07/09/2010 01:59 am »
"Americans in Orbit-50 Years" is a group that says they are planning to orbit a privately built Gemini on a Falcon 9 with a crew of two on 2-20-2012 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of John Glen’s flight.

Dose any one know if they are for real and what if any chance they have of doing this.

First of all, It is a real project, since I volunteered with the group during my first semester at UAHuntsville. I worked with the team that was designing a 1/3 scale capsule mockup, however, I was too busy with other classes to continue with the project. As far as getting the thing space, I'm quite skeptical.

I'm skeptical as well, but do you think it's worth keeping an eye on?
