There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened. -- Douglas Adams

Thanks!

fwiw, we had clear skies here for a three minute pass last night, and I never did see the Progress (I usually go out a bit eaerly and stay a bit late).

Oops, docking time!

Nice article--thanks Chris.
Was the parking orbit really 300km away?  That sounds far, but I honestly don't know...

Question for those in the know:  regardless of how far away the parking orbit, will the added manuevers impact the reboost portion of this vehicle's mission?

Happy Fourth of July, United States!

Thanks - and NASA officially said:

"The Progress 38 conducted two successful firings of its engines Friday night to put the craft in a parking orbit around 300 kilometers from the space station. "

"Let's start not trusting the Kurs measurements and work on visual observations".
