From Jeff Foust:

Musk starts telecon, calls it one of the best days of his life.

Musk: launch success "bodes well for the Obama plan".

Musk: 1st stage broke up on reentry, recovering fragments. Notes this not primary objective of flight.

In Tweeter, NASA Watch informs that the first stage hit the water pretty hard, and there is a debris field. For those interested, the location of the impact is 32° 07´ N 69° 15´ W.

A pity, it would have looked awesome in a museum.

Space-Track elements imply 235 x 276 km x 34.5 deg. International Designation 2010-026A. Way to go, SpaceX!

Musk: "a little more roll than expected" in 2nd stage, but didn't affect performance.

Musk: initial abort due to an igniter on engine 3. Looked at data, concluded they were too conservative in constraints.

Musk: happy with 2nd stage engine; skirt extender worked well, cooler than expected.

That is more than 1% difference from 250km circular. So who is right?

Musk asked about Hutchison comments. Musk: "why is she trying to hurt a Texas company?" (They test their engines there.)

Might be changed parameters after 2nd stage propellant blowdown. Or might be the original numbers were guidance calculated values.

Musk: we'll be announcing a number of major launch contracts soon, some of which signed before the launch.

Musk asked how he planned to celebrate. "With a lot of margaritas."

Not really. A company with 20 people who test the engines compares to Obama's plan to kill HSF which will destroy thousands of jobs in Houston.

Constellation killed HSF not SpaceX.
