The capsule will stay attached to the 2nd stage, but they will probably test Merlin-Vac re-ignition. But I seem to recall reading that the 2nd stage/capsule was only going to stay in orbit for a few orbits.

Congrats to SpaceX. However, I remain concerned that Obama will tout this as anti-shuttle propaganda. Hopefully they will keep the STS-135 option on the table.
