Her final hours with the orbital outpost have earned praise from engineers, managers and astronauts alike, most of whom have moved away from the politically correct “it” to the traditionally correct “her” when speaking directly of the famous spacecraft.
They really are for this mission. It's a nice touch. Always found "it" to be disrespectful.
I fear it will be decades before we have famous, named spaceships. No one is going to remember the serial number of once-used Dragon. -

Mike (reviews the inspection process) - was a great survey, exceeded the timeline, a couple of hours ahead. Finished 2.5 hours early. Over the course of the next day they will provide a thumbs up on Atlantis for Entry. Expected by crew lunch tomorrow.
The crew is doing exceedingly well. ISS is preparing for Soyuz 21 return.
Notes Atlantis will pass through the 120 million mile milestone.

Mike C on consumables.
Mike S: Enough for EOM+3 A lot of capability, a lot more than we had. We launched on time, and margin for pad hold without topoff we took to orbit with us. Cyro was the driver, so we've got EOM+3 capability. Friday pick-em, Saturday systems day.
Robert on weather for KSC Wednesday.
Mike S: Typical for Sping. Change of low clouds and showers. We may get lucky and land on the first attempt, we'll just have to see how that plays out.
On which orbit the 120m miles is passed - they don't know yet.

Basic questions on inspections.
Mike S notes DAT are a very talented team.
Marcia on it's finally hitting you it's Atlantis' last flight.
Mike S: I've always been a goal driven person. From an engineer to a FD. With a limited number of flights left it's hit me. It is possible we'll fly another flight with Atlantis depending on the budget.
Team did an excellent job. Atlantis has performed virtually flawlessly. It's been a real pleasure to see it all play out.
There's a lot of reasons I want to see the STS-132 crew and Atlantis land. Was remarkable to see Atlantis land (on his previous role). Incredible sight and gives a sense of accomplishment and closure. You get to bond with people.

Mike: The shuttle has been a remarkable vehicle as serving as a peaceful means of exploring, and Atlantis in particular with MIR and ISS and also DOD mission tasks. Atlantis has been a peacekeeper, it's been a great thing to see, which is just might thought on Atlantis and her history. Whether we get additional flights remains to be seen but I'm glad to be where we are with this mission. -

Q: Consumable Status ?
A: Enough for up to EOM +3 as they launched on first attempt
Limiting consumable is Lithum hydroxide and cryogenic oxygen
Q: Weather forcast for landing at KSC on Wednesday ?
A Chance of low clouds and showers as are typical for a spring landing
Q: What orbit does 120m mile mark occur ?
A: Late in mission, doesn't know exact orbit
Q: Why does the LDRI flicker and explain how it works
A: Two modes 2D and 3D, 2D doesn't flicker 3D does, allows you to see depth of field rather than just height and width
Q: How many people are invoveled in clearing orbiter for entry
A: Image analyists work with heat sheild experts. Therea are 2 levels of inspection.
Level 1 looks for areas of interest, then they go back and review each area of interest.
Level 2 - unsure ?
90% of time using a different tool to look at an area of interest clears it
Q: Any areas of interest on heat shield ?
A: Not currently
Q: Is it finally hitting you that its Atlantis's last flight ?
A: Yes, as its probably Mikes last flight as lead flight director
Q: Have you ever came for a shuttle landing before and are you coming this time as it might be Atlantis's last landing ?
A: Been once before on STS 129
Q: What was it like to see Atlantis leave the ISS for the last time and anything special planned to celebrate when Atlantis lands ?
A: Seeing her back away was a welcomed milestone, planning to spend time with people that planned and prepared mission
Q: Regarding landing is Friday pick them day and Saturday Systems Day ?
A: Yes

Extremely pleased with accomplishments on docked mission
Atlantis is performing quite well and is being reconfigured for entry and landing
Crew is doing well and have completed the final inspection
Q: Would you say this is the cleanest flight for Atlantis and the shuttle program ?
A: Hard to say until vehicle is on ground, but it looks to be in the family of the cleanest vehicles. All the vehicles have been outstanding in the past 12 months
Q: Will the landing be extra significant as it might be the last landing of Atlantis ?
A: Not for him, all landings are important
Q: Can you give us a status update on payloads and shuttle processing for 133 and 144 ?
A: Targeted launch date for 133 is Sept 16th 2010
Discoverys processing going well but there are some challenges with payload.
A week or two after Atlantis lands they will do a full evaluation of STS 133 and 134 manifests
Q: Any change in plans to leave the OBSS on station ?
A: No the plan is still to have the last shuttle mission leave the OBSS on station
Q: How far into June can you go without word about an extra flight ?
A: Can go quite far with Atlantis on the processing front until they need to know if its going to fly. Would like to make a decision in June / July time frame as they need to train the crew and ground controllers as well as loading software etc
Q: How far into July can you go ?
A: Hard to say will look at it in the next few weeks depends a little on what happens to target launch dates for STS 133 and 134
